Dear Alumnae and Friends, e first few months of my new job at St. Hubert were truly amazing. So many wonderful events took place and I got to experience them with a new and different perspective. e special occasions that I loved so much as a student – Student Council Installation, the Feast of St. Hubert and Susie Hubert Day – reminded me why I returned to work at St. Hubert. Our school is special in so many ways and my “homecoming” has reminded me of its particular uniqueness. As I look back on the past few months, I realize that I am truly blessed to have a second chance to live the St. Hubert experience and I have a re- newed appreciation for its many extraordinary qualities. As I reflect on my own second chance at St. Hubert, I’m reminded of what our community experienced over the last year. From a dev- astating announcement on January 6, 2012 to triumph over the closure 49 days later, St. Hubert was given a second chance at new life. We must embrace this special gift and be thankful for our new beginning as we work to carry on the legacy of our great school. I promise to continue to work tirelessly to ensure the stability and growth of St. Hubert in sincere thanksgiving of the special gift of my return. At the same time, I ask for your support – time, treasure or talent – in appreciation for our beloved school being saved from closure. Together we can do great things for St. Hubert and show the world how truly blessed and thankful we are for a second chance. Dear Alumnae and Friends,

The first few months of my new job at St. Hubert were truly amazing. So many wonderful events took place and I got to experience them with a new and different perspective. The special occasions that I loved so much as a student – Student Council Installation, the Feast of St. Hubert and Susie Hubert Day – reminded me why I returned to work at St. Hubert. Our school is special in so many ways and my “homecoming” has reminded me of its particular uniqueness. As I look back on the past few months, I realize that I am truly blessed to have a second chance to live the St. Hubert experience and I have a re-newed appreciation for its many extraordinary qualities.

As I reflect on my own second chance at St. Hubert, I’m reminded of what our community experienced over the last year. From a dev-astating announcement on January 6, 2012 to triumph over the closure 49 days later, St.

With proud and eager loyalty,

Chapel Restoration and ImprovementsWe have begun to implement much needed and important improvements to our Campus Ministry facilities and resources. New vestments and a beautiful altar Crucifix have been purchased and are now being used. Also, in the next few months, we will launch a campaign to restore the ceramic Stations of the Cross that have adorned the walls of the school chapel for many decades. If you would like to dedicate a vestment, station or the Crucifix in a loved one’s name by making a donation, please contact Rev. Ronald Check at 215-624-6840 ext. 247 or [email protected].

Locker Dedication Program In celebration of the 70th Anniversary of St. Hubert, the Locker Dedication Program was established by Committee Co-Chairs and Faculty Members, Marianne Sisco Burpulis ’67 and Mary Hooten Green ’72. In September, President Frank Farrell joined Ms. Burpulis and Ms. Green in dedicating the first locker by affixing a commemorative plaque. For more information on the Locker Dedication Program, visit www.huberts.org/lockers or contact Robin Skubin Nolan ’90 at 215-624-6840 ext. 233 or [email protected].

Distinguished Graduates President Frank Farrell celebrates with Distinguished Graduates Marcy Waters Szwedowski ’58 and Mary Lou Lydon Weckerly ’54 and Distinguished Undergraduates Gabriella DeLeo ’13 and Victoria Formica ’13 at the November 18th Communion Breakfast at the Knowlton Mansion.

Art Scholarship

Accomplished artist Stamatios “Nick” Burpulis, husband of Marianne Sisco Burpulis ’67 and father of Marisa Burpulis ‘02 passed away in March 2012. Many of Nick’s pieces can be seen on and around the campus of St. Hu-bert. One of his most notable and recognizable works to our community is the kneeling sculpture of St. Hubert in front of the deer that has been on display in the courtyard next to the main entrance for over 30 years. In apprecia-tion for Nick’s passion for and love of art, a memorial scholarship was established in his name in the Spring of 2012. The Stamatios N. Burpulis Memorial Art Scholar-ship will be awarded to students who have a talent for and love of art. If you would like to support this special initiative, please send your gift in the enclosed envelope and note “Burpulis Scholarship” on the check or visit www.huberts.org/BurpulisScholarship.

Our 2012-2013 Annual Appeal is in full swing and we need your help. Appeal letters were mailed to alumna and friends in

December. If you did not receive a letter or misplaced your mailing, please use the enclosed envelope to submit your gift.

Also, donations can be made online at www.huberts.org/giving. Help support the Bambies!

Alumnae Association Fundraiser On Saturday, September 15th, the Alumnae Association

hosted a “Drive 4 UR School” event sponsored by Dunphy Ford. Dozens of St. Hubert alumna, friends and supporters came out to test-drive several Ford vehicles which translated into an amazing $4,600 raised by the Alumnae Association!

Students happily accept a check from Kevin Dunphy of Dunphy Ford.

Joe Connors of e-Force Compliance presents a donation check to students.

Faculty Scholarship Fund EventOn Saturday, October 13th, St. Hubert hosted an E-Cycle Event in an effort to collect electronic waste. Hundreds of students, friends and neighbors stopped by with old or broken electronics - "anything with a plug" - which amounted to over 50,000 pounds of recyclable materials. This great event, coordinated by our English Department Chair, Ms. Terese Lewis, raised over $2,600 for the Faculty Scholarship Fund which provides important tuition assistance to students at St. Hubert. The next E-Cycle event will be held on May 11th. See page 6 for more information.

The Bambies are Building Robots!

Our new Robotics Team has been busy working on great projects and they are in desperate need of tools for their robotics shop. If you would like to recycle your old tools, our Bambie Botz will put them to good use. Please drop them off in the main office during school hours. For larger tools, boxes or machines that need to be picked up, contact Mr. Farrell at [email protected] or Mr. Flood at [email protected]. We are also look-ing for mentor volunteers - Mechanics, Programmers and Engineers are especially needed! If you would like to make a donation to the Robotics Program and help support our amazing Bambie Botz, send your gift in the enclosed envelope and note “Robotics” on your check or donate online by visiting www.huberts.org/robotics.
