New Year’s resolutions are easy to make but hard to keep. Life gets in the way and it’s easy to make excuses. But, as Walt Disney so eloquently put it, “the way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” So, among what I’m sure is a long list of things you want to focus on in 2016, I’m asking you to think about supporting St. Hubert. Our 2015-16 Annual Appeal launched in December and we asked our alumnae and friends to make a donation and “Back the Bambies” (see page 6). While financial support is critical to the growth and success of our beloved school, there are many other ways to participate. Organize a reunion for your class. Join the Alumnae Association (see page 3). Attend a Coach Bingo (see page 6). Use the Shoparoo mobile app (see page 7). ere will literally be dozens of events and opportunities to support St. Hubert throughout the year, so keep an eye out. We are deeply grateful for the generous support and committed participation of our alumnae and friends. It is so vitally important to the future of St. Hubert. If you haven’t been participating, we will gladly welcome you back with open arms. Remember, once a Bambie, always a Bambie. Dear Alumnae,

As we begin 2016, I’m reminded of how refreshing it is to be given the opportunity to start something new – a diet, a job, a hobby, a project. New Year’s resolutions are easy to make but hard to keep. Life gets in the way and it’s easy to make excuses. But, as Walt Disney so eloquently put it, “the way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

So, among what I’m sure is a long list of things you want to focus on in 2016, I’m asking you to think about supporting St. There will literally be dozens of events and opportunities to support St.

Our Lady of the Angels ChapelOur Lady of Angels Chapel recently opened to serve as a more convenient location (near the cafeteria) to serve our students. Thanks to the generosity of the local Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, the Chapel includes an altar which was located in the Faculty House at North Catholic for many decades as well as a tabernacle and stand which were fixtures in the North Catholic Chapel. Our Lady of Angels Chapel is a lovely and quiet space which blends the modern needs of our students with the historic pieces of a beloved school whose memory is cherished by so many. We are planning to dedicate the Chapel in the next few months. If you're interested in learning more about making a gift to have the Chapel dedicated in your name or a family member's name, contact Robin Skubin Nolan '90, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, at [email protected] or 215-624-6840 x233.

75th Anniverary Gala Save the Date

Friday November 18th

SENIORS HELPING SENIORSBy Kathy Burke Burns ‘63

On a bright Sunday afternoon in October, fifty members of the Class of 1963 gathered at St. Hubert to celebrate their collective 70th birthdays at a luncheon hosted by Robin Skubin Nolan ’90. After tours of the school led by student ambassadors, the ladies assembled in the school cafeteria to share a meal and chat with their classmates.

How fortunate we were to be able to attend St. Hubert and not have to pay tuition! Today the cost is almost $7,000 a year with many additional fees especially for students in their Senior year. With this in mind, our Reunion Committee thought that the occasion of our 70th birthday celebration would be a great opportunity to give back to a school that gave us such a wonderful education.

So, our luncheon event served two purposes. First was our birthday celebration and second to raise funds to “adopt” two students. I'm very proud to say that almost $4,000 was raised to help two Seniors with their tuition. We got to meet our adopted Seniors, Allison Kuvik ’16 and Isabella Goschinski ’16 (pictured above at center), at the luncheon who had no idea that we planned to give them such a gift. Both Allison and Isabella were completely surprised and very emotional. We were all delighted to learn that both girls’ mothers are Bambies. I know that I can speak for my classmates when I say that we are proud to be investing in the St. Hubert legacy and it was a very special experience for all who were present.

Many thanks to my classmates for their commitment to this wonderful event. Happy 70th Birthday to the Class of 1963!

If you would like more information about hosting a similar event for your class or are curious about the process to adopt a student, contact Robin Skubin Nolan ’90, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, at [email protected] or 215-624-6840 x233.

2015 Legacy Liturgy & Luncheon

Our 2015 Legacy Litrugy & Luncheon was held on December 6th. Mass was

celebrated in the St. Hubert Auditorium followed by lunch at the Belle Voir

Manor. It was a wonderful celebration of the many generations – mothers,

grandmothers, aunts, sister and cousins - who have shared the St. Hubert

Legacy. The 2015 Distinguished Graduate, Georgeanne Huff-Labovitz ‘83, and

2015 Distinguished Undergraduate, Kerianne Kistner ‘16, were honored at the

luncheon. We also presented the 2015 Legacy Award to Maura Stocklin ’19 in

recognition of her family’s long history at St. Hubert. Everyone who attended

received a commemorative 2015 Christmas Ornament.
