GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL TOWN OFCARY AND NCDOT STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
2. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE TO EDGE OF PAVEMENT OR FACE OF CURB, UNLESSOTHERWISE NOTED.
3. ALL PAINT STRIPING, PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND SIGNAGE SHALLCONFORM TO THE "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES" ORAS REQUIRED IN SPECIFICATIONS.
4. ALL PERMITS RELATING TO THIS PROJECT MUST BE OBTAINED PRIOR TOCONSTRUCTION.
5. PAVEMENT MARKINGS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM INDICATED AREAS BYTOWN OF CARY / NCDOT APPROVED METHOD THAT CAUSES NEGLIGIBLEDAMAGE TO EXISTING PAVEMENTS.
6. PAVEMENT DESIGN WILL REQUIRE NCDOT APPROVAL. THE MOSTRESTRICTIVE CROSS-SECTION BETWEEN THE MINIMUM DESIGN,CALCULATED PAVEMENT DESIGN, TRIASSIC DESIGN, AND NCDOT DESIGNWILL APPLY.
7. MINIMUM THICKNESS OF SIDEWALK SHALL BE 4" EXCEPT WHERE ADRIVEWAY CROSSES A SIDEWALK, THICKNESS SHALL BE 6". SIDEWALKSSHALL HAVE A UNIFORM SLOPE TOWARDS THE ROADWAY OF 2% UNLESSOTHERWISE NOTED. THE UTILITY STRIP BETWEEN THE SIDEWALK AND THEBACK-OF-CURB SHALL SLOPE AT 1/4" TO 1/2" TOWARDS THE ROADWAYUNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
8. ALL STOP BARS SHALL BE LOCATED 4' BEHIND A CROSSWALK, IF PRESENT.
9. ALL NEW SIGNS SHALL USE PRISMATIC SHEETING AND MEET THE MINIMUMRETRO-REFLECTIVITY LEVELS SET FORTH BY THE MUTCD (MOST CURRENTEDITION).
10.ALL PAVEMENT MARKINGS FOR STREETS AND INTERSECTIONS SHALL BETHERMOPLASTIC IN ACCORDANCE WITH NCDOT STANDARDS, UNLESSOTHERWISE NOTED.
11.COLOR OF DETECTABLE SURFACE AT ALL CURB RAMPS TO BE BLACK INCOLOR, PER TOWN OF CARY ROADWAY DESIGN STANDARDS.
12.PRIOR TO PERFORMING ANY WORK WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY,CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY NC 811 BEFORE ANY EXCAVATION ORDEMOLITION ACTIVITIES.
TRANSPORTATION CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT THE WORK IN A SAFE MANNER AND WITHA MINIMUM AMOUNT OF INCONVENIENCE TO TRAFFIC.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL ANDSHALL ADHERE TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE MUTCD (MOST CURRENTEDITION).
3. PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION BEGINNING, ALL SIGNAGE AND TRAFFIC CONTROLSHALL BE IN PLACE. REFER TO SHEETS C-2.4 AND C-2.5 IN THIS PLAN SET FORPEDESTRIAN AND TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE A COMPLETE SET OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTSAS WELL AS ALL APPROVALS AND EASEMENTS ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR ALL DRIVEWAYS, DRIVEWAY PIPES, CURBAND GUTTER, SIDEWALKS AND STREET TO EXISTING CONDITION OR BETTER.
6. NO BASE MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED ON A ROADWAY UNTIL THE STORMSEWER, SUBGRADE, UTILITIES, AND ALL APPURTENANCES HAVE BEENINSPECTED AND APPROVED BY THE TOWN OF CARY.
7. NO CONCRETE SHALL BE PLACED UNTIL THE FORMS AND SUBGRADE HAVEBEEN APPROVED BY THE TOWN OF CARY.
8. REFER TO NCDOT STIP PLANS 5506 FOR ADDITIONAL ROAD IMPROVEMENTSALONG AVIATION PARKWAY.
NOTE(s):1. IF ELEVATION OF THE PROPOSED CURB & GUTTER IS SIGNIFICANTLY
ALTERED IN THE FIELD BY NCDOT INSPECTORS FROM THE APPROVEDPERMIT SET, CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO ANYC&G CONCRETE POUR.
