The President’s Tale at R.C.H.R....

Independence Day for India is on the 15th of August, and for Pakistan it is the 14th of August. When the two nations are showing their disparities, we try to heal the world and bring everyone closer. Rotaract is one mighty organization which connects the globe, and tries to maintain harmonious relations in order to live in a happier country.

The Rotaract Club of Hyderabad has been with us in close collaboration since a couple of years now, and we would like to strengthen the bond between our Clubs so that we can do a lot more activities together and also ensure healthier relationships between the two countries. 15th August, 1947 was the day when India got its independence and had it not been for those freedom fighters, there would be no Independent India, nor a Pakistan! We would have still been oppressed by the British Government.

Today for what we are, we must thank our stars, and great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Mohammad Ali Jinnah, two key roles to India and Pakistan’s Independence. The International Service Team along with The Editorial Team, have tried to give the bigger picture to all the young members of R.C.H.R.Hope Everyone Enjoys reading This Bulletin!

Rtr. Junaid Khan,President 2011-12,Rotaract Club of H.R. College.

PAKISTANI LEGENDS

Legends And Inspirations are the personalities of Histories who devoted their lives for the sake of those who are even not in their blood and known relations, and without any desire of fame and humanity, for benefits of poor people, for benefits of illiterate people and for their land.

Revising my knowledge of history that i am learning since my childhood from books and my elders, while talking about the legends of our country we find the names of the people who became legends of Pakistan even before the birth of Pakistan and India. These people gave their best shot in their personal and professional levels of life and could live a life full of peace and serenity, irrespective of even talking about their discomfort and woes. But they gave in their maximum efforts to relieve others from their troubles.

In the list of the Pakstani Legends, Quaid-e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah ranks number one. He became the first Governor General of Pakistan. While talking about this legend Jinnah, two appealing characteristics of his were, realizing the efforts of every individual and the sacrifices they made, and he was the advocate of the sub continent who charged a fee of above Rs. 1500 in the 1930's. Although, when he became Governor General he charge 'One Rupee' as fee.

Mohammad Ali Jinnah gave the freedom to each person of different religions to carry on their thown religious practices till 14 August, 1947. The country of Pakistan was unfortunate

because, the 'father of the nation' could not survive any longer than that very day. His presence his felt through his guidance and the three words he gave to the country, “Unity, Faith and Discipline”.

The second legend that i would mention is Liaquat Ali Khan, who was the first Prime Minister of Pakistan. He was Jinnah's right hand, and was of major help during crucial circumstances. He left us on the very day of Independence!

Allama Iqbal, the poet from the East, another important name in the History of Pakistan. Although by profession he was a lawyer, he became a poet and initiated the idea of 'Pakistan'. His poetries are inspirational pieces of art, and people read them even today.

Fatima Jinnah, sister of Mohammad Ali Jinnah was the mother of the nation and can be mentioned as the backbone of Qaid-e –Azam's freedom struggle. She made her brother's life subtle and easier, both, personally and professionally. She also inspired the women to join the movements for independence.

The Johar Brothers, who supported the struggle through the art of writing, i.e, by newspapers, did not stop writing even after being imprisoned. Mr. Chaudhary gave this country their Flag, he got his recognition from there. Also, Hafeez Jalindiry brought unity and put forth inspiring examples of Patriotism, like the National Anthem. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan played a vital role in the entire struggle, and he was a boon to Pakistan.

Post independence, new legends have emerged, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the one to give a constitution to Pakistan, and he set the platform for Pakistan to become a super power. He also made Pakistan economically strong, and he became one of the most prominent leaders post independence. He was known for his diverse personality of opening up to the public directly, instead of speaking in a parliamentary session.

When we look back and remember these glorious legends, we have made a conclusion that, after they've gone, they haven't gone too far away because they are still there with us in the form of their writings! They certainly left their mark and went away!

Indian Inspirations

Life isn't a bow, but still is a gift. Genius is one percent inspiration but ninety-nine percent perspiration. An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind. A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave. This was just an insight of a few morals of various aspects that this one legendary man believed in with immense conviction. He is not only the "Father of our Nation" but he is a man built of innumerable virtues and definitely serves as an inspiration to the present generation.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a young boy who was the Dewan of Porbandar and a well-educated lawyer sacrificed all his happiness due to his love for the nation. In his struggle, he left no stone unturned and never gave up. Patience, determination and non-violence were his principles which he not only preached but also practiced. His unique methods of discipline left every citizen awestruck and his personality made him the "Superhero" of our nation. He embodied the kind of a transformation that can be made when ordinary people come together to do extraordinary things.

Truth is always bitter in the beginning but never evil was what he practiced till the end in his struggle to attain independence. He believed that all Indians were brothers and sisters and no distinctions should be made on basis of castes and religions. This charismatic man was a symbol of Free India who never gave up until he succeeded. His mortal fame has turned into ashes years ago but he still lives in the hearts of millions of people. Mahatma Gandhi, an embodiment of eternal love and truth, will live for immortal ages.

The Glorious History of India with Pakistan

IIndia and Pakistan, two worlds sharing a rich history and an even richer future always has been a highlight towards this Glorious Independence.

Let's take an insight into our legendary history where Pakistan was not a full fledged country as today. Indian history revolved majorly around relations with Muslims (now Pakistan). Having that rebellious blood, Muslim leaders like Mohammed Ali Jinnah and others have gone against the Indian freedom fighters to a great extent to full-fill their wishes and not to allow the Hindus to get to power. Their jealousy caused division and great unrest between the Muslims and the Hindus leading to a cold war. Indians always shared bitterness with the Muslims then which included many civil wars.

Pakistan was born out of the greed of a separate nation by the Muslims wanting division of India. But gradually the Muslims did support the Indians in war against the British and deserve a hand in the freedom of India. It is said that India and Pakistan are two brothers born from the same ashes of British slavery.

In spite of creating such a division and having the hatred against Indians, Pakistan in the present has walked towards maintaining a healthy relation with India. Many treaties and projects have been undertaken in recent times between India and Pakistan showing the bright future both the countries would share. In times of unrest like the 26/11 terror attacks Pakistan has not failed to give possible information and guidance on the terror groups responsible. Pakistan along with India has jointly voiced many opinions in the welfare of both nations. Constant visits by both the presidents have built a strong bond between the two countries.

Leaving behind the past India and Pakistan ought to continue a friendly relation for years to come.An as today I would say 'JAI HIND' I look up to India with pride and Pakistan with hope.

Indo Pak Relations

India and Pakistan were both a part of the same mass before independence. They were separated to develop peace for everybody. Initially, times were tough, people did not have enough food to survive, but somehow, with the help of our ancestors, and we just managed somehow then.

Although we got independence some issues were left unresolved, due to which there was a disturbance in the harmonious relations. Issues like water, Kashmir, etc. were the main problems which caused a state of unrest between the two countries. There have been timely meetings between both the Prime Ministers, where they try to come to a consensus about the mutual problems. Even after all the meetings that take place, nothing concrete has been enforced, The Kashmir issue is still in a state of dilemma and all discussions are futile.

Organizations like SAARC, UNO try to establish peace and harmony amongst all countries. Being the distinct members of the society, we do prefer peace and harmony over war and violence. We can put forth the question of why the discussions are always futile! Well, the answer is that the past is not completely specific, there are a few reasons for which India and Pakistan did not want to be a part of the same country. Although, the reasons are not India and Pakistan, the countries follow their own religion, we have our own cultures and we both are developing at a rapid pace.

With the youth taking initiatives, it seems like the peace and harmony between India and Pakistan can be restored. But, the lack of interests of the government and self-benefits has barred the public to achieve their goal.

In due course time all the hard- work of the youth will pay off, and the Indo- Pak peace will be retained. After developing peaceful relations among one another we must ensure that we eliminate all hindrances that will disturb the peace.

We are in desperate need of a transformation, the impact of the change depends whether it's coming from the government to the public, or from the public to the government. The other solution to tackle the above problem is if the government and public both work hand in hand.

This subcontinent consists of diverse cultured states, one of the oldest civilizations and an area of optimum natural resources, thus, becoming an enemy of the other countries. Intrusions have taken place in our country in the past and ruled for long by the policy of 'divide and rule.' After so many years also we aren't completely independent and this is because we discriminate amongst each other till date.

We the youth shall understand now that we must respect each other's cultures and religions in order to maintain peace and harmony. In this manner we will be able to live as 'One' in the world. We will make a strong unit which nobody can break!
