11. Student feedback mechanism on Institutional Governance/faculty performance:

The Principal obtains the feed-back at least Twice a year from the students regarding the quality of teaching done by the teachers. In case of any shortcomings observed either in the quality of teaching or attitude, the teacher is suitably advised, during annual assessment. The Principal also takes feedback from the students regarding any difficulty or inconvenience faced by them and the issues are sorted out in consultation with the Deans, HODs and Wardens.

12. Grievances redressal mechanism for faculty Staff and students:

A Grievances Committee has been constituted way back in 2001 and its existence is widely circulated. Any major grievance, which could not be solved at the HOD level, can be submitted to the Committee. The Committee goes into the details and gives its suggestions to the Principal. The Principal in consultation with the Management takes appropriate steps for the redressal of the grievance.

A Suggestion Box is installed within the easy reach of the students in the Administrative Building so that they may communicate their grievances in writing. The Principal notes the suggestions so received to initiate corrective actions.

Dongri Mines for MOIL.

b) Research Projects : The research project on study of Uranium in ground water of six districts of Maharashtra has been sanctioned from BARC, Mumbai. The sanctioned fund is Rs.43.59 lakh. Projects duration was 2 years and the projects were completed and final report will be submitted by March 2019.

c) Departmental Achievements:

Dept. of Civil Engineering has been recognized as Research center for Ph.D. from January 2017 with intake of 10.

Nine candidates have been registered for Ph.D. in 2018 under the guidance of Dr. B. Ram Rathan Lal , Dr. S.L.Atmapoojya and Dr. A.N. Shrikhande.

d) Faculty achievements/Recognitions:

Dr. B. Ram Rathan Lal, Principal is a reviewer of American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM), Journal of Testing and Evaluation and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, Radioactive Waste.

Dr.R.K. Bopche published text book “ General and Engineering Geology” published by Global Education Ltd., Mumbai.

Dr.A.N.Shrikhande and Dr. A.N. Dabhade elected as Members of Board of Studies in Civil Engineering of RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur.

Dept. of Civil Engg. has prepared the Hydrological Report of Gumgaon Mine and Satak Mine of MOIL Ltd., Nagpur. This study is being done by Dr. R.K. Bopche, Professor, Dept. of Civil Engg.

Dept. of Civil Engg. was carried out the Scientific Study on Hydrology of Dongri Buzurg, Chikla and Beldongri Mines of MOIL Ltd., Nagpur. This study is being done by Dr. R.K.Bopche, Professor , Dept. of Civil Engg.

Dr. R. K. Bopche delivered a lecture in Two day seminar on “Remote Sensing Applications in Environment and Agriculture” at DMIETR. Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha on 24-25th Jan. 2018.

e) Activities of the Dept.

Guest lecture was organized on “Writing Skill of Technical Paer” by Dr. Tinu Agrawal on 19th July 2018..

Real Estate was conducted on 31st August 2018 for Civil Engineering students. This event was all about planning proper town along with keeping it economical.

Civil Engineering Association celebrated Teacher‟s Day on 5th Sept. 2018 in Kalidas Seminar Hall, Civil Dept. Principal, Deans and all the staff and students of Civil Dept. were invited.

Expert lecture was organized on “STAAD Prp/” by ASTRAL on 4th Jan. 2019.

Mr. Mangesh Saiwala (K1149) structural Designer visited on 16th Jan. 2019 and discussed.

Mr. Akshay Pradip Randiwe bearing Roll No. CE13015 secured the First University Rank for securing highest CGPA in 8th Semester Summer-17 University Examination conducted by RTM Nagpur University with 9.29 CGPA (1083/1350) and awarded 6 Gold Medals as detailed below.

Students of 6th Semester and 8th Semester (13 students) attended the National Conference “Compass-2018” on advances in Surveying, Mapping and Geospaial Technologies” organized by Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (l) at hotel Radisson Blue, Nagpur on 9th 10 Feb. 2018.

DRDO Robotics and Unmanned System Exposition (DRUSE):

Our Institute has sent five proposals on 15th January 2018 to participate in DRDO national level theme based competition. The participants have show case their problem solving capabilities considering utilization to defense applications. Following proposals are sent 1. Soldier Assistant Vehicle

E-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI): ELSI is a robotic lab developed under National mission on education through ICT. Under this project Department has received 3 firebird V Robotic kits. Students of final year are continuously involved in their project activities under ELSI. Department promote the students to participate in

various robotics competitions like „e-Yantra Ideas‟ organized by IIT Bombay.

6) International Series of Karting (ISK)is an event initiated by „Mean Metal Motors for

undergraduates around the world to build and race their own GO-KART as per

International standard & rules. The GO-KART has been fabricated in the Institute and

tested. 25 students from III and IV yr. Mechanical Engineering headed by Mr. Bhushan

Hatwar, the team „TITANS‟ had participated in the event of ISK from 26th Feb – 1st

March. 2018 at a GO KART competition „Hub for youth, Uppada, Visakhapatnam under

the guidance of Mr. N.N. Suraskar and Mr. P.D. Malwe, MED.

A small group of students is attached to a teacher who acts as their counselor/mentor. The counseling students are required to meet the counselor on a regular basis and interact with him/her frequently. In case of any problem the counselor provides suitable advice. The counselor acts as a friend, philosopher and guide for his counseling students.

Medical facilities :

A part-time Medical Officer is appointed by the Institute to provide Medical facilities to the students. The Institute houses a dispensary to cater to the medical needs of the students. In case of medical emergency vehicle facility is provided to the students to take them to the nearby hospital.

Students Insurance:

Student Insurance facility is provided to the students.

Students Representative Council (SRC) is constituted in the Institute, which consist of various class toppers, and the Final year Class Toppers acts as its President. Various extra-curricular activities are planned and organized by the SRC Body for the students.

Cultural Activities:

Various Cultural Activities are planned and organized by the SRC Body throughout the year for the students. On 16th Jan 2019 Flute performance by surmani Pandit Shri Rajendra Kulkarni was organized. Singing Competition „KITS Idol‟ was conducted on 23rd Jan. 2019. Achievements of students in Cultural activities:

Mr. Rohit Gadhwa ELD 15075 selected for Classical Vocal Solo & Ms. Kulashri Marjiwe, CE14070 selected for Inter University Competition in Kathak Dance “Indradhanush” organized by RTM Nagpur University.

Ms. Neha Morewar won first prize in National Dance and musical contest organized by Shreekrishna vidyalayam, Nagpur.

Sports Activities:

The institute has a full-fledged Physical Education Department to provide sports and games facilities to the students. The sports and games activities are held throughout the academic year from July to February for boys and girls. Students are encouraged to participate in various sports and games at national/state/ university /inter- collegiate levels. Every year the students of the institute are winning various prizes in the national and state level competitions and bring laurels to the institute.

The institute has a well-equipped 12 and 4 station gymnasium and weight lifting sets and about 150 students make use of these facilities every day. The Indoor Games Complex built with the grants received from the central government, of international standards, has facilities for basketball, badminton, table tennis, caroms, chess and a gymnasium.

Vast area and facilities for Athletics, Kho-kho, Volleyball, Foot Ball, Hand Ball, Beach Volley Ball, Tennikoit, lawn tennis and Cricket are available in the campus.

Literary activities:

To enhance and sharpen the literary skills of the students, many events are conducted to sharpen the creativity of students. Following events were conducted to enhance their literary skills recently. The inaugural function of Literary Club for year 2018-19 was held on 25th July 2018. The Chief Guest of inaugural function was Dr. Naznin. He inspired students by his motivational talk.


SPELL IT- This event was conducted to enhance the spelling and pronunciation awareness among the students. The event was held on 30th August 2018. Through this event the guidance was given to students as how to improve vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation in

English language. It was also a contest and students participated in the contest. The winners will be given the prizes in the Annual prize Distribution ceremony of Institute. A Language Lab has been set up where the students are taught about the Basic English Skills, which include pronunciation skills, written skills etc.

Magazine / News Letter:

Literary Club of KITS, Ramtek brings out a news letter „Xpressions‟ where the students of the institute contribute articles of technical and non-technical nature, stories, poems, etc.

GATE Club Activities: The main purpose of GATE club is to provide guidance to students for preparation of competitive examinations such as IES, Govt. and public Sector companies.

Informative lecture about scope, Gate syllabus, marks distribution subject wise and study material, software available in the department.

Guidance Lecture by individual subject such as Engineering Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics from expertise staff available in the Institute.

Alumni activities The Institute has an independent Alumni Charter to interact with pass out students . Main objective of the charter is to bring students and alumni together . In this regard there is dedicated portal www.kitsalumni.org for connectivity with alumni. Every year on 16th January Alumni day Celebration takes place at Institute. Heads of Departments and faculty members are in continuous contact with the alumni through telephone, email and social media. The alumni charter organizes various alumni meet on regular basis in and out of campus. Alumni are also invited to deliver expert lectures and to share their experiences about work place and present need of industries. Alumni provide a variety of benefits and services that help themselves maintain connection to their educational institution and fellow graduates. On 6th May 2018, Shri G. Kamalakar alumnus of 1986 batch Member of Legislature Assembly, Karimnagar, Telangana State has visited the Institution . He delivered motivational speech to the students. Mr. Sanjay Jumle, Alumnus of 1992 batch, General Manager, Vidarbha Industrids Power Ltd., Butibori, Nagpur was invited as Chief Guest for Inaugural function of Electromatix forum on 25-07-2018.

Alumni Meet of 1993 batch was held in the Institute on 27-10-2018. 49 alumni from India & Abroad attended the meet. They shared their experiences and reminisced about the facilities available in the Institute. Mr. Vibhor Agrawal, of 1988 batch, Director – Marketing Supertron Electronics Pvt. Ltd., has visited the Institute on 13th Dec.2018. He interacted with staff members of Electronics and Communication Engg. Dept. Mr. Sanjay Lulla, Alumnus of 1988 batch, Software defined Systems, IBM visited the Instiute on 18-12-2018. He interacted with the faculty members of Computer Technology Department on database which is going exponentially day by day . He appealed faculty members to include the topics of Cloud Computing and Net work security in curriculam. The alumni suggested that the syllabus to be updated with latest technologies like machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing etc. Mr. Swapnil J.Rodiye, Alumnus of 2005 batch, SAP consultant, Cognizant Tech., has visited the Institute on 31-12-2018. He interacted with the Senior Faculty. During his interaction, he informed that he will help the students in placements. Mr. Sahil Koul, of 2007 batch, Senior Engineer, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd., has visited the Institute on 31/12/2018. He suggested that curriculam to be modified as per industry requirement. Over the years, KITS Ramtek, have provided a platform for various successful careers . This is evident from the success that has been achieved by KITS Alumni across the globe. No matter wherever the Alumni are , they all have a common feeling of fondness and appreciation towards KITS , Ramtek.

Social responsibility and Community contribution:

As a part of International Yoga Day Celebrations, NSS unit of KITS Ramtek conducted Yoga Day on 21st June 2018 in Gym building, KITS Campus, Ramtek. Dr.Bapu R. Selokar, yoga teacher from Ramtek gave training to the participants. Dr. B. Ram Rathan Lal, Principal, Dean, HODs Teaching & Non- Teaching staff were Present. 70 students participated in the occasion and performed the yoga.

On 24th July 2018 100 saplings were planted under Tree Plantation programme. Mr. Sharad Khandelwal Vice President, Nagpur city of International human rights council was the Chief Guest.

NSS volunteers performed a skit on „ Eradiction of Superstitions‟ on 15th Aug. 2018 (in view of Independence Day celebration). Dr. B. Ram Rathan Lal, Principal, Dean, HOD‟s, Deans,
