Last year, CCSD saved over $70 million dollars from funds allocated for teachers’ salaries as a result of not filling funded positions. With 800 full time substitutes this year, they are on the path to do it again. Despite the school year starting, CCSD Board of Trustees have not done the right thing by adjusting the budget and making educators and students the priority. So why aren’t the Trustees putting salary savings back into our salary— A no brainer, right? They need our help to do the right thing. CALLING ALL EDUCATORS! On Thursday, August 27, 2015 starting at 3:45pm in front of the CCSD at Edward A. Greer Education Center, 2832 E. Flamingo, our Negotiations Committee and Teachers will be announcing our next steps prior to the Board of Trustees meeting. To set up a meeting at your school, contact the CCEA Organizing Department at 702-733-3063.
