Greetings Community Partners! Many Maryland Farmers are starting to turn over the ground to start their plants. Maryland has a wonderful selection of items that can be grown locally. Thinking of starting a garden of your own? Check out the Home Garden Information Center for information on what you can plant during Maryland's Growing Season. Try out our Activity of the Week a great way to get kids up and moving to take a "brain break”! Let us try lettuce in something other than salad! Tasty Tuna Lettuce Wraps Ingredients: 2 plum tomatoes, washed and diced ½ yellow onion, diced Juice of one lemon 2 (7 ounces) packages of chunk light tuna, in water 1/3 cup of low-fat Italian dressing ½ head of Romaine lettuce, washed, leaves separated Directions: 1.Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and mix well 2.Spoon 2 Tablespoons of tuna into each lettuce leaf 3. Tasty Tuna Lettuce Wraps
