RAFT SLAB - PREREQUISITE FOR SUPERSHIELD WATERPROOFING TREATMENT
l The RAFT SLAB that is to be treated should be minimum 7 days old.
SUPERSHIELD SPECIFICATION AND APPLICATION METHODOLOGY
Provide, mix and brush apply two coat of SUPERSHIELD CRYSTALGUARD, single compound Deep Penetrating
Capillary (DPC) waterproofing system that generates a non-soluble crystalline formation of dendritic fibers within
the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete @ 1.5 Kg/m² for two coats on the RAFT SLAB.
1) Surface preparation - The concrete substrate that is to be applied with SUPERSHIELD CRYSTALGUARD must
be free from foreign materials and to be micro cleaned by mechanical means like wire brushing or vacuum
cleaning.
2) Pre-wetting - Concrete surface must be thoroughly saturated with clean water prior to the coating to ensure
moisture presence inside the pores and capillaries and remove any excess water and ensure surface is touch dry
while coating.
3) Mixing of CRYSTALGUARD - Mix SUPERSHIELD CRYSTALGUARD powder with clean water to form a slurry
consistency with 5 parts of powder and 2 parts of water.
4) Application of CRYSTALGUARD - Apply the first coat of SUPERSHIELD CRYSTALGUARD as a slurry
consistency on the concrete surface.
5) Second coat of CRYSTALGUARD - Apply the second coat of SUPERSHIELD CRYSTALGUARD as a slurry
consistency on the first coat after a minimum of 4 hours gap.
