Our next meeting will be March 7 @ CUMC

*Please let us know if you can help us out on the Soup & Scriptures that we host. We will be hosting on March 7 and 21.
Do you enjoy cooking or helping with meal preparation?
Many thanks to those who do who have helped us in the past with funeral dinners. This is a great way to serve when you can without having to make a major commitment. We are in need of more folks who are willing to help, either through making a salad or dessert when called on, or in assisting with the funeral dinner itself. If you would like to be added to our list of volunteers, please contact Linda Jones (462-5617) or Amie Kendrick (431-6013). Your help is appreciated!
The Missions Committee will meet on March 15 at 5:30. All are welcome to
attend! If you are interested in learning more about the Missions Committee, contact Sam Funk.
Important Meeting: We will hold a Charge Conference on Sunday, March 4
following worship. We will meet in the church library.

Open Hearts, Working Hands…
The Missions committee would like to invite ALL church members to take part in our Open Hearts and Working Hands program. We are looking for both projects that need done and volunteers to help complete the projects. Open Hearts and Working Hands was established to assist people who cannot complete a project alone. Projects can be big or small from helping to move furniture, repairing a broken window, removing a tree from your yard, painting inside or outside your home, to bigger projects like moving homes in town, hauling items to the landfill or repairing a deck. If you have a project that you would like completed, you can contact the church office or Sam Funk at [email protected] or 620-290-0969
We are also looking for volunteers to help complete these projects. If you would like to volunteer to help, no special skills are required, please contact Sam Funk and he will put you on the list!
This year our Camp Lakeside Work Day will be a little early because Camp Lakeside is celebrating its 70th Birthday on April 28th starting at 1:00 p.m. with a worship service at 4:00 p.m.
The Colby United Methodist Church has been asked to prepare two cabins in the West canyon (between the Dining Hall and the Chapel) for the birthday celebration. The Missions committee would like to invite anyone interested in helping to join us on April 7th. We will be moving furniture, building a path to the cabins, installing A/C units, general maintenance and finally cleaning the cabins inside and out so they look great and can be used for the big day. Anyone who joins us will be able to contribute, no special skills or tools needed!
More details to come, but for more information now contact Jan Barnum or Sam Funk.
Also, mark your calendar for Camp Sunday! On Sunday, April 22 we will have camp representative here to speak to us about Camp Lakeside and their camp schedule for this year!
The CUMC Youth and Adult Leaders will head to Estes Park, CO the 15th-18th of March for their Annual Search for Life Retreat! They will be staying at the YMCA of the Rockies, engage in indoor rock-climbing, snowshoeing, skiing, and the YMCA amenities in addition to having daily worship, devotionals, and small group lessons. Please keep the group in your prayers as they travel and experience the Spirit moving through this time of spiritual growth for these young people!
