THANK YOU GOOD STEWARDS!! We want to THANK all who turned in a Stewardship Commitment Card for 2019! We received 310 cards this year, representing 54% of our parish families.

We also want to thank members of our Stewardship Committee who made phone calls to approximately 280 parish families! As a result of their

efforts, we heard back from more parishioners and were able to update our parish registry.

It is not too late to commit your TIME to one of the MANY opportunities to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ, your TALENT to one of the MANY Ministries here at The Proto-Cathedral, or your TREASURE to financially support your parish. If you would like to become a part of our Catholic community, registration forms are available at the entrances of the church. You can also visit our website for a form (www.protocathedral.org), or call our parish office (360-693-3052). And, of course, you are always welcome to stop by the office during our office hours. The St. Martha’s Apostolate also registers new parishioners after every Mass on the first weekend of each month.

You will receive a statement totaling all your donations for the entire year in late January. Items brought in on January 1st or later, even if dated in 2018, will be posted in 2019.

Knights of Columbus Bishop A.M.A. Blanchet Council 15730

Coats for Kids

This year, 14 dozen warm winter coats were purchased with donations from our Pa-

rishioners, and 14 dozen warm winter coats were given to our Bishop A.M.A. Blanchet

Council #15730 by the Supreme Council in recognition of the outstanding effort by

our Council in planning and executing another successful Coats for Kids Drive.

Knights started working with Community-Family Resource Coordinators at several

elementary and middle schools in and near the inner-city of Vancouver early in the

school year, and with St. Vincent de Paul and Share Vancouver,

children and teenagers in our community. All 28 dozen coats

(336) were delivered to these locations to help children stay

warm this winter.

Many thanks to those who donated generously again to this needed cause, and thank

you to those Knights who planned and executed the 2018 Coats for Kids Drive, includ-

ing making banners, soliciting donations, ordering, sorting and delivering coats, and

helping children select and try on their coat.

Dear Parish Family, I want to thank everyone for all you have done for me since I have been here. Unfortunate-ly, due to some family circumstances that are out-side of my control, I have chosen to leave my po-sition at the Proto-Cathedral of St. James the Greater and return home to Birmingham, AL for a while. Even though my time here was short, I cannot express enough how much you all made me feel loved. There are so many with whom I thoroughly enjoyed a Sunday morning cup of cof-fee, a conversation about the faith, or planning a youth group event.
