English for Starters is a communicative course in English, which takes into account the most modern methodology.
English for Starters Level 1 aims to stimulate the child’s interest in learning English and to develop confidence through a range of enjoyable activities, including games and songs.
The focus at this stage of the course is on the two skills of listening and speaking, although pre-reading and pre-writing activities are introduced through the Activity Book. An active use of the language is promoted throughout the course, setting the foundation for successful language learning.
The course consists of:
• A Pupil’s Book, which includes attractive and lively material to encourage the pupils’ interest in the language through a range of listening and speaking activities, songs and games.
• An Activity Book, which presents a range of stimulating activities from drawing to matching, tracing and copying.
• A Teacher’s Guide, which contains step-by-step, easy-to-follow instructions for each lesson and useful notes on the effective use of teaching aids.
