Does a solar system make financialsense for me?

Yes! Solar power is cleaner and less expensivethan power from the utility company. Solaris a smart financial investment because youwill save money every year as utility ratescontinue to escalate. Plus, a solar system willincrease your home value.

A SolarLease can be a better investment thanpurchasing your system because you do nothave a big upfront payment and can saveyour money for other opportunities. You savemoney every month on electricity bills andcan even be cash flow positive right away.

What are my options at the end ofthe contract?

A SolarLease is a very flexible way to go solar.When your contract ends, you have severalgood options from which to choose:• You can ask SolarCity to remove your

system for free.• You can upgrade to a new system with the

latest solar technology under a newcontract.

• You can extend your agreement in five yearincrements.

Can I decide to buy the system later?

No, but you have the option to renew yourlease in five-year increments and will haveother options at term end, as noted above.

How does the PerformanceGuarantee work?

SolarCity offers a performance guaranteethat your system will produce as muchelectricity as we promise, or we will pay youback annually.• The amount of electricity we promise to

deliver is specified in your contract, sothere are no surprises. We proudly stand byour claims.

• If your system underperforms, SolarCitywill refund you per kWh shortfall at the endof each year.

• Our production estimates take into accountnormal weather variation and solar panelperformance over time.

• We track your system performance throughour SolarGuard online monitoring service,which you also have access to 24/7.

What if I move to a new home?

You also have several options if you movebefore the end of the contract:• You can transfer it to the new owners at

no cost.• You can buy out the system and include

it in the value of the house—solar homestypically have a higher resale value.

• You can pay to have it moved to your newhome. See the contract for certainrestrictions.

How can the Refer a Friend Programcover my solar costs?

As soon as you become a SolarCitycustomer, you will qualify for our Refer aFriend Program.

We want to see more people save energyand adopt clean solar power. To show you ourappreciation, we will send you $400 for everynew friend you refer who installs a SolarCitysolar system on their home or $1,000 ontheir business. Just a few referrals a year cancover your solar costs.
