WHAT’S OUR JOB & WHY DOES IT MATTER? SEE THE OTHER SIDE!
The MessageBe “Bay Responsible” and help Rotary and Annapolis Green make this a zero-waste event again this year. That means that NOTHING will go to the landfill. EVERYTHING will be recycled or composted. In just two months the crab trays, shells & all other food waste, all paper products, spoons, knives, and even wooden mallets will turn into beautiful compost for gardens, completing the circle of life!
Yes, spoons, knives, and the clear cups are compostable too. They look like plastic, but are made from plants and therefore, are compostable! Visit the Annapolis Green table to learn more and order some Crab Feast Compost for your garden. Last year we collected 26,000 pounds, or 13 tons, of compostable material in two full dumpsters. That’s more than the weight of a fully loaded FedEx truck or two African elephants. And we recycled more than 8580 pounds of plastic and metal. This year, through the Naptown Tap and use of water pitchers, we’re reducing single-use plastic water bottle pollution!
We’re doing our bit for the environment and so are YOU!
Our JobPrimarily, we will be helping feasters put the right things in the right container with a smile.
Set-up:• Hang banners and signsDuring the Feast: • Staff waste stations giving
guidance & encouragement • Plastic Patrol - Gather
all plastic film for proper disposal
• Roll toters to compost dumpster
• Introduce to our Naptown Tap water refill stations
• Staff our Annapolis Green table including promoting sale of compost and re-usable bottles
Clean up/Break Down:• Clearing tables, folding chairs, etc.• Celebrate job well done with the Rotarians
