nswer: For the abstention from the prohibition of the Shareeah, one should excessively ris daily, *

nd with great devotion, engage oneself in the Zikr ofNafi-Wa- Ithbaati.e.*nd to awaken the lazy sleeping heart. Furthermore, it is most beneficial to recite daily, mnd evening, Sura Falaq and Sura Naas.

OPTIONAL SALAAH

uestion: Besides the 2 Rakaah Sunnah and the 2 Rakaah Fardh of Fajr; 4 Fardh and 2 aunnah of Zohr; 4 Fardh of Asr; 3 Fardh and 2 Sunnah of Maghrib; 4 Fardh 2 Sunnah and 3Esha. That I perform, are there any other Salaah besides the five prescribed times to be

uestion: What is read for the protection of Azaab (punishment) in the grave?

nswer: Recite Sura Mulk (29 para) and Sura Hameem Sajdah daily after Esha Salaah. I

uestion: Besides the fasts of Ramadaan, in which other months must one observe fast?

nswer: Besides Ramadaan-ul-Mubaarak, the 9th of Zil Hajj is very virtuous. It is said that

ne-day fast washes away two years of sins. The fast of Yaumal Ashurah (10th Muharram)as a very great benefit. It washes away one whole year of sins. Besides these two fasts,

unnah to observe fast on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every Lunar month. These are knowsts of Ayaam-e-Baydh (day of Whiteness). Fasting in the first or last days of every month

Likewise, it is excellent to habitually fast on a Monday and Thursdahe fast of the 15th Shabaan (Shabb-e-Baraat); six days after Eid-ul-Fitr; the first nine daysl Hijjah are certainly of great virtue. nswer: As much as possible, try to face the Qibla when reciting the Quraan Shareef.onounce every Huroof (alphabet) correctly with Tajweed. Pay special attention to the M

ashdeed, Fatah, Kasra, and Dammah (Zabar, Zer, and Pesh). Observe all the Waqfa (st

hese are a few of the external ethics (Zaahir).

he Baatin (inner) codes are also of paramount importance. Firstly, the (junior) reciter mmagine that he is in the presence of Almighty Allah Y and that Almighty Allah Y is listenins recital from a very high pedestal. For the more senior and advanced reciter, he must at whatever is being read it is conveyed directly from Almighty Allah Y.

ROTECTION FROM THE HARDSHIPS OF SAKARAAT

uestion: How can one save oneself from the terrible pains and hardships of SakaraatNakuni- time of death)?

nswer: Make it a habit to recite Ayatul Qursi and Sura Iklaas daily to lessen the hardshiakaraat. Sura Mulk recited daily before going to bed is for security and freedom fromunishment of the grave. Sura Dukhaan is also prescribed for the same purpose.

uestion: Can you advice or suggest of any method whereby one can build courage andonfidence to answer the questions posed to him or her in the grave by Munkar and Nakehe Angels of death)?

nswer: Let this answer be on ones lips at all times, and also write and keep it with you e form of a Taweez):

KEEPING OF THE SHAJRAH SHAREEF

IN THE QABAR

uestions: Should one keep the Shajrah in the grave or not? If one should do so, then wthe correct procedure to adopt?

nswer: To keep the Shajrah in the grave is an old practice of the Awliya and the Mashahere are two methods of doing this. The first method is to keep it on the Kaffan or on thest of the deceased. But the honourable and learned Fuqaha (Jurist) has objected to tecause at times the body bleeds and discharges impurities that will soil the Shajrah. The gross disrespect to the names of the Mashaikh printed or written therein. The secondethod is safe and recommended, that a recess be dug on the head side of the grave andhajrah Shareef be placed in it.

REPARATIONS TO BE MADE FOR DEATH

uestions: What must be done if there are signs of assurity that a sick person will die in ays time?

nswer: When such signs are visible, then the family should give Ghusal to the patient. not possible, then Wudu should be given. If this is also difficult, then perform Tayammr him or her. Lay the sick on the bed in a manner, that his or her face is facing towardsbla and sprinkle some attar on or around him. Do not discuss any worldly matters in hi

er presence. Do not express grief or cry. Request all those who are very beloved or close patient (e.g. husband, wife, sons, daughters, etc) to avoid sitting in his or her presencowever, if the sick call for them then they should present themselves, but not for long

eriods. Recite Kalima Shareef aloud in front of him or her, so that he or she may repeatou. Never order or command the sick to do so (read the Kalima) as they may refuse to their state of unconsciousness and due to the effect of hardship (of Sakaraat). This masult in the person leaving the world without Emaan (Allah forbid!). Avoid discussing the

ardships of death and the grave with him or in his presence. Instead, speak of the infinercies and bounties of Almighty Allah Y. Speak of the Shafaat (intercession) of Sayyiduasoolullah r and of the pious and Noble Awliya Allah. Wholeheartedly, accept all instructnd wasiyat made by the dying person in these crucial moments and give him or her thessurity that they will be fulfilled. Recite Sura Yaseen, Sura Fateha, Sura Ikhlaas and oth

erses of the Holy Quraan loudly in his presence. Keep him or her as comfortable and res possible.

ETHOD OF PERFORMING SOME SPECIAL SALAAH

uestion: What is the correct method of performing the following Salaah: Salaatul Istisqaain), Salaatul Kusoof (eclipse of the sun) and Salaatul Khusoof (eclipse of the moon) and alaah of Ashura?

nswer: The method of performing Salaatul Istisqa is that the head (leader) of the villagty should lead all the Muslim to the Eid Gaah or open field for three days in succession. commended to wear old clothes and walk barefooted towards the Eid Gaah as a sign of

umility. Do not express any signs of happiness as done in Eid Celebrations. The barefo

urney to the Eid Gaah must be with great simplicity and humility. At the Eid Gaah or fiee Imam will lead 2 Rakaah Salaah with loud Qiraat. Then he will read the Khutba byvoking the Merciful names of Almighty Allah Y and beg for pardon of the sins of the peohile the Dua is being read, the Imam will constantly move his head to the right, left, top

ottom. This is the Dua taught in the Hadith Shareef:

O*he eclipse (solar) Salaah consists of 2 Rakaah. The Imam will lead the congregation withent Qiraat. It is best to recite as much Quraan as possible in both Rakaah. Thereafter,

ngage in Dua and Istighfaar until the eclipse is over.

ertaining to Ashura Salaah, the Noble Mashaikh have prescribed 2 Rakaah Nafil after thas risen (approximately one to two hours after sunrise). In the first Rakaat, after Suraateha, recite Ayatul Qursi. In the second Rakaah after Sura Fateha, recite the last Ayahura Hasher. After the Salaam, recite Darood Shareef as much as possible. Other Mashaescribe 6 Rakaah by reading after Sura Fateha, Sura Wash Shams in the first Rakaat, Sna Anzalna in the second, Sura Falaq in the fifth and Sura Naas in the sixth Rakaat. Afte termination of the Salaah, go into Sajdah (prostration) and pray to Allah Y for the

lfillment of your legitimate needs.

BTAINING HALAAL SUSTENANCE

uestion: How does one go about obtaining Halaal Rizk (sustenance) nowadays?

nswer: At all times, there are 4 basic ways of obtaining Halaal Rizk, which are as follow

Employment service with a condition where you may not be an accessory to Kufr andppression. This also includes any Haraam or forbidden transaction.

Farming on condition that no worker is unjustly deprived of his or her rights and allansactions to be in accordance with the laws of the Shareeah.

Trade and Commerce: here too, only those commodities of trade that are not

ontradictory to the Shareeah. Correct weights and amounts must be considered strictlyWork of Art and Craft: this too hinges on honesty.

ISITING OF THE GRAVE

uestion: Kindly explain the correct method of visiting the grave?

nswer: When you visit the general Muslim grave-yard, then greet the dwellers of the grthe Sunnah method:

*pproach the grave from the leg-side and face the grave at the chest with your back facingbla. Recite Sura Fateha once and Sura Ikhlaas three times. Then, make Dua for the

eceased. When visiting the grave of a Wali, then approach the grave as if you would appm when he was physically alive. Exercise great respect and humility and approach from tet-side. Reach to the Walis chest position and sit down in the Attahiyat position, that is, face. Here, the following should be recited 21 times: *

his is read in a Zikr pattern by striking the (Darb) on the ear. Thereafter, recite Sura Innanzalna thrice and divert the heart from all thoughts and images. Now, engage in deepediation, imagining that your heart and the heart of the Wali are together. If this stage i

chieved, then Isha-Allah, you will achieve the Barakaah of the Wali entering your heart.

SIGNS OF THE AWLIYA

uestion: How does one establish whether any grave is that of a Wali or ordinary Muslim oot, and if it is known that a Wali lies there, then how is one to achieve benefits from him?

nswer: Some Mazaars are well known and it is certain that they are of Awliya. Hence, tocedure is to be adopted when visiting them: Go to the head-side of the Mazaar and pe Shahadah finger on the grave. Recite the beginning of Sura Baqarah till Muflihoon. T

o to the leg-side of the Mazaar and placing the Shahadah finger on the grave recite Amaasoolu till the end of the Sura. Thereafter, say the words: O Noble Wali! I plead in theivine court of Almighty AllahYfor the fulfillment of my desires. I humbly request of yoease make Dua for me to AllahY, to grant my desires. Then face the Qibla and presenour case to the Merciful Allah Y.

you pass by any unknown grave, and if you doubt whether it is that of a Wali or not, this is what you should do: present yourself at the grave and offer Fateha. Recite the no

ura, Darood Shareef and Zikr (already mentioned in the previous question). Thereafterthe chest of the grave in Muraqqibah (meditation). While in Muraqqibah, if you feel

anquility and spiritual happiness then it is certain that the grave is that of a pure and reoul. It is always wise and advisable to seek spiritual bliss and blessings from known andmous Mazaars of Awliya, rather than unknown graves.

ETHOD OF MAKING ITIKHAARA

uestion: What is the method of making Istikhaara?

nswer: The easiest procedure of Istikhaara is as follows: perform Esha Salaah with fresudhu. Recite Darood Shareef 11 times with absolute concentration and devotion. Thencite the Tasmiah (Bismillah) 100 times followed by Sura Alam Nashrah 70 times. Termiis procedure with 11 Darood Shareef. Now, blow on the palms of your hand and rub th

n your face. After completing the above-mentioned actions, make the following Dua in t

argaah of Almighty Allah:O Allah! I seek your command in whatever I intend doing. P

form me of your decision in my dream or through any other secret sign, whether I shoroceed or not. After the Dua read this Darood Shareef 100 times: * ASE FROM HARDSHIP OF THE WORLD

uestion: Can you prescribe some Duas to ease or eradicate the hardships of the Duniyaworld)?

nswer: Dua-e-Karb is most effective for this purpose. Read it when and how you desire

he reading of Khatam-e-Khwaajegan is also a means of easing the hardships oforld. The method of reading this Khatam-e-Khwaajegan is famous and easily

vailable. Furthermore, the Khatam of

*so have its unique powers. This is read 1200 times with Darood Shareef 100 times at theeginning and 100 times at the end. This can be read individually or collectively.

ROTECTION OF INTEGRITY AND HONOUR

uestion: What can you advise me for the protection of ones integrity (Izzat) and honouAabro)?

nswer: Read Ya Azeezu 41 times after Fajr Salaah and blow on your face. Do the sameefore visiting any officer or magistrate. Try to engrave this Glorious Name on a piece ofnd use it in a ring in place of a stone. The engraving has to be done very carefully as noelow, in the form of a Taweez:

O he ring them to be worn on a finger of the right hand, when visiting an officer or courtrooust be kept on the finger till the case or meeting concludes.

METHODS OF OBTAINING BARAKAAH

uestion: Please prescribe something for Barakaah in sustenance?

nswer: Make it a habit of performing 4 Rakaah of Chasht Salaah. After the Salaam, go inajdah and read: Ya Wahaab (100 times). If time does not permit, then read it 50 times.ecitation of Sura Khaaf on Friday is very effective and proven for Barakaah in Rizk. Besideese, recite Sura Waaqihah daily after Maghrib and Esha Salaah. It has great benefit. The many other Wazaaif for Barakaah in Rizk. One is the deliberation of Ya Mughni. This ad 100 times after Fajr Salaah daily and if time permits, then 1000 times. The other way

cite Sura Muzzammil 21 times daily after Esha Salaah. If 21 are not possible, then recite mes, and if this too is still difficult, then recite at least once. When you reach the ayah: * hen read 25 times * nd thereafter complete the Sura.

nswer: When you intend to go in the presence of such a ruler or officer, then read 17 tim *nd blow on your face. Furthermore, before leaving home, sit in one place, facing the houfice of the officer and read:

nswer: The following Dua is read for the protection from evil of enemies:*here are no limits or time or condition of Wadu to read this Dua. While reading, visualize nemy in your heart and imagine that you are throwing a stone at his chest. Besides the aentioned Dua, Sura Lahab and Sura Feel have been said to have the same impact.

LINEAGE

uestion: What is the meaning of Hasab-o-Nasab and Sharaafat-o-Najaabat?

nswer: Hasab is that family integrity and honour that has manifested in 7 generationsspectfully, e.g. a person whose seven generations were kings or high ranking officials ofngdoms, or whose 7 generations were Mashaikh, Awliya and Ulema.

asab is the families excellence that has never changed for generations, e.g. descendentsayyiduna Imam Hassan t or Imam Hussein t, a Sayyid, a Hashmite, a Quraish, Ibraahimarooqi etc.

ome people have Hasab but no Nasab e.g. Taymooriya or Mogul (king and kingdoms),ajppot family, physicians, descendents of Imam Abu Hanifa t, etc. Some people have N

ut no Hasab, a Sayyid whose 4 generations before him had no Masha ikh, Ulema or Kingenerally Sharaafat-o-Najaabat (Nobility and Integrity) refers to the prestige or status ofasab.
