Age of TA

This question shows me that I should perhaps target my magazine to mainly teens, but also those over the age of 46. this is quite a wide age gap but due to teens gaining half of the vote, I will direct my magazine more towards younger audiences.

Gender of TAMy research shows that more woman than men read Rock magazines, meaning I should make my magazines unisex, but perhaps make some content more towards females.

Favourite Sub-Genre of TAMy research indicates that within the genre of Rock, the different types have equal popularity, with rock generally being the most popular, showing that I should be equal about each sub-genre mentioned.

This was an open question, and from asking this question, I got a wide range of answers, from interviews to articles to posters to reviews to quizzes. One of the most popular choices was interviews, signalling that it would be a good idea to have interviews within my magazine.

Preferred Magazine Name - TAI gave interviewees a wide range of potential magazine names and from this I got a wide range of answers, some more popular than others. The most popular option was LP, gaining 13% of the votes, with Thrash and Rockr coming in close with 12% of the votes each. I have decided to go along with LP as it is linked to a type of record (Long Play), however, this could be a bad idea due to the fact that there is a Rock band, Linkin Park, who’s initials are also LP.

Due to the fact that this was quite a generic question, I received a few varying answers, however I found that most of them ranged between about 8 hours a week to 8 hours a day.

How Much TA Would PayThe most popular option for the price of my magazine was £2.02 - £3.00, the second most popular option being =<£1, this could be due to the fact that most of the people surveyed were students, wanting the best value for money, however a good quality magazine like Kerrang is £2.20, and so I shall price my magazine in the most popular range.

This was another generic question with many different potential options, however I found that the artists mentioned within my Sub-Genre Research Prezi were recurring names, as well as a few more that I hadn't mentioned. This gives me an idea as to which artists I should mention more due to their popularity.

Interest in New Mag - TAMost of the people I asked had been open to the idea of a new music magazine being available, and those who said no were most likely comfortable with what they knew and weren't open to new things as it may not be to their taste and so they would have just lost money. This gives me an idea as to where I stood in comparison to well-known, long-running music magazines.

Desired Gift for TAI asked my TA in what form they would like a free gift, and the majority chose a free product. I assume this is due to the fact that it doesn’t require shopping anywhere to claim your offer as it will be there with the magazine. This means that within my Music Magazine, I will need to mention a free gift somewhere, instead of a voucher.

Page 12: Questionnaire PowerPoint

I asked my TA how often they would buy music in whatever form, and my response was usually either ‘once a week’ for those who bought physical copies, and ‘whenever I fancied’ for those who usually purchased downloadable copies of the music. This shows how often they go to buy music and so I could link the content in my magazine with this statistic.

Music Form - TAThis was linked to my previous question, and gave me an idea as to how people bought music. This is a confusing statistic though, as the majority of my TA would like a physical gift, but they download music. This is something I will need to work with within my magazine and come to a decision. The statistic shows that a large majority of those surveyed buy downloads of music, showing how the technology has taken its toll on music.

TA Interest in FashionThis question is one I felt was quite stereotypical, as those who answered yes were female, and so this statistic leaves me with the choice of deciding if I should put Rock fashion in my magazine or not, as Mixmag does have fashion in the magazine, and it seems to be aimed at females, and so it may be a good idea as Rock is seen as stereotypically dominantly male.
