What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?
By Emma, Lucy and Tom
YouTube- Using YouTube gave us many
opportunities for our work- This happened because we first used it for research to
help us with the genre for the film. We used it to search up other movies e.g. Pulp Fiction, Skyfall and many others
- We were also able to upload our own clips. We did this because we were able put tags on it so then different audience or You Tubers could search tags and then leave comments at the bottom for our feedback
- Another reason why we used YouTube is so we could upload our clips to blogger which is where we have our blogs which are marked later on.
Blogger- Blogger is where we put all of our
research and tasks on Blogger so we are allowing the public to see the work that we have done
- On Blogger we imbed material e.g. prezi or slideshare
- Hyperlink to other site- Customize based- Organize work
Facebook Facebook is a social networking site founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg
and his friends. It has over 1.3 billion users as of January 2015. We used Facebook to promote our film by creating a page for our film.
This is where we uploaded our trailers and news about the film. The Facebook page collected data feedback which we used to help
improve our films for next time. We used Facebook because of the features that it had to offer, because it
was free and due to how easy it was to use.
Survey monkey We used ’Survey Monkey’ to complete our
audience research for our opening scene. We asked a number of questions on our questionnaire which we used to improve our script for our film.
‘Survey Monkey’ was founded in 1999, it is a free service which is extremely popular among a lot of businesses as it helps them with market research.
We were able to share the link to our survey on our Facebook and Twitter account which helped get a varied and large amount of responses
We used ‘Survey Monkey’ due to its easiness and the ability to customise each question.
The data collection collected by ‘Survey Monkey’ allowed us to improve our opening scene before we filmed it.
Slideshare Slideshare is an online service
which is used to upload files such as PowerPoint's, PDF and word documents to the internet.
Slideshare is a very popular site, with over 16 million registered users from all around the world.
We used Slideshare so we could put our PowerPoint's and Word Documents on our blog.
We used this service as there was no other way to get out work on our blogs and because the service was very reliable and easy to use.
Final Cut Pro Final Cut Pro is a video editing
software developed by Apple and released in December 2014.
We used Final Cut Pro to edit our opening scene, we were able to add various effects such as cross overs and theme tune music to help us make our film look professional as possible. -
We were able to upload our video straight from Final CutPro to YouTube which was a really good feature.
We used FinalCut Pro due to the skills that it had to offer, it was one of the most up to date video editing software there is.
FinalCut Pro was also used to edit our audience research and our discussions.
Box Office Mojo Box Office Mojo is a website that tracks movies box office
revenue which shows how successful some movies are. The site was founded in 1999, in 2002 they had over 2
million We used Box Office Mojo for research, we were able to get
information on how successful thrillers are. Another reason we used Box Office Mojo was because it
was easy to locate films to gain the right information we needed. It was very quick and we didn't waste any time.
Prezi
We used Prezi when we were doing the Treatment Video for our product. It was simple to use as it was all laid out ready for the information to be put into it. The template is easy to change and create which
makes the slideshow more aesthetic making it more engaging for the audience to watch and listen to.
When presenting it we could easily go from each slide to the next using the arrows and using the icons on the screen. This works really effectively and can easily be made creating little planning time needed to create an effective.
Scribd
This is used to transfer word documents etc into links to then be able to go onto blogs.
It is simple to use but can become quite confusing as the links become complicated which may become an issue to some users.
The links then get shared onto the blogs and get posted as the word document
