The 3 Types of TechnologyHardware, Software and Online technology are the

three forms of technology we have used in the making of our product. Hardware was used in the making of the

film when we used the cameras and microphones to film the opening. Software was used in the editing

aspect on premiere pro and live type. Then finally we used the internet for research of our product, such as going onto YouTube and looking at existing openings.

HARDWARE – DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA

0We used a Sony HDR SR8 to film our movie opening. We had used these cameras before we made our film so we knew the buttons we had to press, how to put it on the tripod and different features it has. Therefore when we went to shoot we knew everything about the camera and we was confident in using the video camera.

HARDWARE – DOLLY AND TRIPODS

0 In the production of making the film we used a Dolly to capture the collage of pictures of the Clown and newspaper articles. The dolly shot allowed the audience to feel as if they’re moving with the camera. We had practiced using the dolly beforehand so we knew how it worked and as soon as we saw how it worked we knew that this would be a suitable piece of equipment to use in that part of the film opening.

0 We used a tripod in every single shot apart from when we placed the camera on the ground and when we tracked the clown on a medium close up. We knew how to set up the tripod from experiences beforehand but it was a stable and easier way of filming a lot of our shots.

HARDWARE – NIKON D3200

0We used a Nikon D3200 to take the photographs of the cast to use for our evaluation. The camera was Demi’s therefore

she had experience with how it works and what

good shots to capture of the cast with the park.

HARDWARE – SOUND RECORDER

0H1 zoom – We used a H1 zoom to record all of the audio within the film. Before we went out to shoot we had practiced using the H1 zoom so we knew how to press play and re listen to our audios.

0Boom – We used the boom to extend the mic when characters were talking, this allowed us to be able to hear the characters well, but without being able to see the mic. With practice before it was easy to do in our film, however as you can tell by our edit decision list there was a lot of shots where the micfell into shot without us even realizing.

HARDWARE - COMPUTER0We used a mac through out the whole of our whole

project whilst researching, editing and evaluating. We both had experience on the Mac before the project began so we knew what to do and mainly where everything was. If there was something we didn’t know we simply went on Google to find out.

SOFTWARE - LIVETYPEWe used Live Type to create our Demathon Pictures logo and

also the Clown logo at the end of the sequence. Live Type was a fun and exciting piece of software to use because like

Premiere Pro we had never used it before we started the project. Before we made the final titles on Live Type we

practiced using the software doing random titles just to see what effects and styled fonts looked cool. But also to see how we use the timeline and how you import more than 1 thing at

once.

SOFTWARE – PREMIERE PRO Throughout the making of our product we chose to use

Premiere Pro as our editing software. We had a lot of practice on this software so by the time we actually got to the final editing we had an idea of what to do. We made a variety of short clips before we even attempting to make the film and

then uploaded them onto premiere pro and played around with the sound, titles and also how you can edit the actual

clip. Before we started the project we didn't’t have any idea on how to use premiere pro. Now we feel that after plenty of

practice before, putting together a rough draft and completing our final version has given us an extremely good

understanding of the way the software works.

SOFTWARE - PHOTOSHOP0 We were both very experienced with Photoshop before we

started the project therefore when we did come across that we had to use Photoshop we knew exactly how to use it which was extremely handy. We didn’t use Photoshop a lot, but we did use it to import the clown nose onto Live Type when making the Clown title. It was good to use

something that we’re already familiar with and know how it works.

SOFTWARE – POWERPOINT

0Throughout our project we used PowerPoint, mainly for the research aspect. We found PowerPoint easy to use and by using different templates each PowerPoint will be different for every time we used PowerPoint. We were both experienced in PowerPoint before hand so we knew what to do.

ONLINE – YOUTUBE

0We used youtube purely for the research aspect. For looking at different film openings, but also when importing our movies onto there so we can export them onto our blogger.

ONLINE – PREZZI AND SLIDESHARE

0 I used slide share to import all of my documents that I needed on my blog and used Prezzi to present my ideas in a presentable fashion. We learned more about Prezzi the more we used it and got to the point where we understood it more.

ONLINE - GOOGLE

Google was the main searched engine we used to construct the researched for the project. We made sure at all times that the research was reliable and useful to us.
