Our school bike shed is a small but very useful resource in our playground and we’re lucky to have under cover storage for bikes and scooters. It’s not currently possible to expand it but the bike shed could work a lot beer if we all think carefully about how we park our children’s bikes and scooters and, bigger kids who ride or scoot and park: we need your help with this too, please! Currently it is very hard to get through. Younger children cannot easily liſt and carry their bikes over or past bigger bike wheels which intrude into that central “aisle” or pathway, or past bikes or scooters which have fallen over. If scooters do not stand up (e.g. two wheelers) please hang them up or care- fully lean them against the perimeter walls inside the bike shed space. A mess of scooters on the ground is a trip hazard. John, our site manager, tends to shut and latch closed the bike shed gate aſter the bell of a morning to help it remain secure, so please ensure he can close the gate without having to first reposion your, or your child’s, scooter or bike. Thank you in advance for taking a moment to think about how to make the bike shed work smoothly for all of us. The Fantastic Writers group visited the British Museum to learn about prehistoric Britain. They observed all kinds of an-cient artefacts, including Bronze Age swords and Stone Age tools. Thanks to Sensi's and Sophie's mums for joining us!

The Dogs Trust visited us with Tigger the dog. We learned about

dog safety as well their senses, diet and evolutionary links

We have a new approach to homework from Y1-6, designed so that the children take more responsibility for themselves for choosing and progressively completing parts of 8 home-work tasks over a half term. They will also have more time to do in-depth research into topics. There are 8 tasks which need to be completed this half term including literacy, maths and other curriculum topic subjects including using skills for researching, describing and labelling. If you missed your parent/ carer letter outlining this is more detail please go to the school office and pick one up. Thank you. It will save

Homework!
