Queens for the King
Transitions… This seems the most appropriate way to start this newsletter. Since
our last newsletter, our family’s life would best be summed up by the
word “transition”. As many of you are aware, our family is no longer
partnering with Tabitha Ministries. It was a difficult decision. If you
desire to hear more details about the separation, go to:
http://www.grovelevel.org/media.php?pageID=6&view=mobile.
Thomas shares in the untitled message dated 8/16/15, beginning at
about the 5 minute mark. There you can listen to him address our
church family. We know God still has a purpose for our lives and a
good plan for us here in South Africa. We are actively pursuing and
prayerfully seeking His Will for “what’s next”.
Another change for our family is that Elizabeth is in the U.S. now
enrolled at Lee University. She is loving college life. We are so
delighted in how well she has transitioned there.
Thomas is actively teaching several bible study groups. Paige’s Zulu
has tremendously improved while Jacob survived 2 weeks of mid-
term finals and set a new Queen family record for the fastest Queen to
run a mile. Come see how and where God is leading us….
Bible college teaching
Every Monday evening, Thomas has
the privilege of teaching at the Bible
College in the Indian community of
Northdale. The class is attended by
any Christian who wants to learn
more about what they believe. The
class is heavily attended by the
Indian, Zulu, and biracial people
groups here. Currently, they studied
the concepts of Justification and
Sanctification. The students have a
big test in two weeks. Please pray for
them as they “study to show
themselves approved”.
Sweetwaters Discipleship training
Since Thomas’s returned from the US, we have resumed our
bible study with the young adults in the Sweetwaters
community. These young Christians are so eager to know
biblical truths. They desire to know God more fully. We are
studying the concept of redemption currently. Pray for these
students as they grow in the knowledge of Christ. Pray for
their boldness to share with their peers. Pray for our safety as
we travel in and out of Sweetwaters to teach them weekly.
Zulu Language Class Graduate
Say what? For the past 4 weeks, Paige took part in an isiZulu
language class taught at KZN University. Teacher Phindile taught as
much Zulu grammar as Paige’s brain could hold! Although she is
in no way fluent, she can read the Zulu Bible out loud to bed bound
patients now. She also is equipped to not need a translator during
physical exams. She is currently working on memorizing her
testimony entirely in Zulu to be capable of sharing the gospel in the
Zulu heart language to each patient.
Site 11 Ministry Opportunity
Last week we looked at partnering with 2 local pastors to plant a church in the
poor settlement of Site 11. It’s a squatter camp that has many lost people in need
of the gospel. Other needs include access to health care, job training, after school
homework assistance and discipleship. Stay tuned for more information and pray
with us about this possible new ministry development.
Our College Girl!
Elizabeth is loving the college life at Lee
University so far. She enjoys her classes
(especially her Western Culture class &
any that don’t start at 8 AM ha!). She has
made so many good, godly friends. Pray
for her as she seeks God’s will for her
life in a major.
A Jacob update
After giving his big sister a hug at the
airport, Jacob had two weeks of mid-term
finals. He really did quite well. He was on
the track team at St. Charles this term. He
ran long distance. He improved his times
every week. He can proudly say he is the
fastest Queen member after running a mile
in 4 minutes 58 seconds. Catch him if you
can folks HA!
