Conocer is used for…
1. To know a person, place, or thing2. To be familiar with a person, place, or
thing
Examples: Conozco a tu hermano. ¿Conoces Madrid bien?
Personal a
Remember: When your object is a person (or a pet) you
need to use the personal a. In cases with conocer, the person or pet
being known is the Direct Object so it needs to have the personal a in front of it.
Examples: Yo conozco a Mario. Tú conoces a Sra. Looyenga.
