AEDO – Accreditation Process
The primary purpose of the program is to assist EDOs with independent and authoritative feedback on their operations, structure and procedures; therefore, the evaluation for certification is coupled with guidance for improvement.
Accreditation Entails:
1. Document Review – Documentation describing NOLABA’s structure, funding, programs and staff. 2. Site Visit – Objective, on-site review of NOLABA’s operations for evaluation and meaningful, constructive
recommendations. 3. Accreditation Decision – Communicated along with a detailed organizational critique. IEDC issues a plaque
and press release for accredited EDOs. 4. Maintaining Accreditation – Initial accreditation is for a three-year period; NOLABA can seek reaccreditation.
Site visits are required only on second reaccreditation (six years after being first awarded).
24
AEDO– Accreditation Status
Submit documentation demonstrating that the
organization has the systems, policies, and procedures to
successfully achieve its mission.
Includes letters of support.
An on-site visit by expert team of economic development peers.
Review and reaccreditation every three years by the
AEDO committee.
Phase 1: Documentation Review
Phase 2: Site Team Visit
Phase 3: Maintaining Accreditation
NOLABA is currently on Phase 1
