Project Delivery UnlimitedWindfarm Lands at Ellesmere Port

Quality Freight successfully handled its biggest project to date, with its client Enercon charging Ellesmere Port with handling and storage of 16 no. wind turbines that were dispatched to Mid-Wales.

QF Air Charter

Quality Freight West was called into action to transport a large River Cruiser Boat across Ireland and on to Norwich on the east coast of England.

Account Manager Paul McGovern says “ The project move involved careful coordination with local authorities, obtaining permits and road escorts when required, to ensure transit in a timely manner.”

QF Belfast was signifi cantly involved in the movement of a Kleeman Screener moving from Northern Ireland to Prestwick airport to meet a dedicated charter AN124 class Antonov aircraft for direct fl ight to Liberia.

After initial complications fi nding an EU departure airport with the right specifi cation x-ray machine to screen, the move was completed in good time. Director Roger Barham says “This was truly a team e� ort with McCloskey, Kleeman, Stewart International Transport and Prestwick Ground Services all positively impacting the success of the operation.”

River Boat Crossing

Quality Freight Group’s Ellesmere Port operation stepped up to deliver one of its most complicated heavy lifts during the recent ‘cold snap’ in the UK.

The package involved the handling of 87 no. pieces of a manufacturing plant for its global forwarding partner, which landed at the end of February during the worst UK weather for 10 years.

Using QF’s own resources and third parties as was necessary, pieces were discharged to transport either for direct movement to the site, or to the on-site laydown area for re-loading at a later date.

QUALITY FREIGHT LTD, DUBLIN have been awarded the contract for the shipment of 10,000 tons of biomass material ex Ireland to a UK power plant near Grimsby.

Director Derry Connolly said “The Mis-canthus biomass is classifi ed as Hazardous Class 4.1 ‘at Sea’ only, so it was necessary for a Dangerous Good Note and hazardous class labelling for each of the 850 x 13.6m trailers used during that element of its door to door transport to the UK”.

Biomass Contract

Quality Freight partnered with our WCA friends Green Worldwide to assist Team Eirloop who were participating in a global competition at Elon Musk’s aerospace com-pany, SpaceX. The team, who are made up of the top engineering scholars from Uni-versities across Ireland, design pods which travel within vacuum sealed tubes, known as Hyperloops.The team was highly success-ful bringing home the innovation prize ! QF was able to move the pods from Dublin to the campus inHawthorne, California. Delivery was made on time, but not at the speeds that the pods will ultimately travel at!
