Why Quad Play Services?
In the past, the network was king. A small number of operators provided identical telephony services to all subscribers, while communication, entertainment and information services were delivered to separate devices by multiple, specialist service providers. We are now quickly evolving toward a world in which the user is king, with personalized services and custom devices. Successful service providers will be those able to offer lifestyle service bundles to groups of users with similar interests and usage patterns.
Quad Play is the enabler of these new lifestyle services. Quad Play enables seamless access to personalized communication, entertainment and information services over all devices (fixed phone, mobile, IPTV and PC).
Benefits
For UsersPersonal control over custom content and services
Optimization of communication services: Call priorities, call routing preferences, choice of device, access to personal directory from any terminal
Access to content from anywhere (place-shifting): Connection to Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) from mobile phones; TV/video-viewing from laptops and wireless phones; email, voicemail, videomail and instant messaging from any device
Content available anytime (time-shifing) thanks to DVR and networked personal video recording (NPVR)
Interactive services on all devices: T-commerce, M-commerce, interactive video
Context-based services designed for specific needs such as security and healthcare
Simplified usage: Single self-care for all devices, single billing, single number

There is a growing interest for Quad Play among all types of service providers: fixed, mobile, integrated and ISPs.
Pre-integration of voice and video communication with IPTV middleware is seen by most operators as a way to speed up time to market and ensure a clear path to Return On Investment.
The main benefit of the Quad Play approach lies in the inherent service bundling, which leads to reduced churn, a larger share of consumers’ communication and entertainment wallet, and increased customer lifetime value.
Key Attributes to Look for in a Quad Play Solution
Pre-integration of key components: IPTV, NPVR, rating/billing, FMC telephony, instant messaging, presence, video calling, media center, provisioning & management platform
