The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of projects, however in no case the maximum tenure will exceed more than 3 years. Job requirements:- GEM (ESC-0206) Project:- Experience in the area of gem, gemology, gemstones, materials science, solid state physics, etc. The selected candidate will be involved in any of the research activities such as gemstone survey, identification, characterisation and evaluation of natural raw gemstones and coloured gems, lead glass filling of gems/gemstones for porosity removal, heat treatment of gems to improve colour and reduce porosity, laser processing of gems to improve colour contrast, irradiation of gems for colour modification, ion implantation in gems/gemstones, optical and refractive properties study, Raman spectra, tomography of gems/gemstones, defect studies and microstructual characterisations using XRD, XPS, TEM, FESEM, EDS and other modern methods etc.

CSM-Supra (ESC-0401) Project:- Expertise in chromatographic and various spectroscopic techniques such as Circular Dichroism, FTIR. The Fellows will be entitled for House Rent Allowance as per CSIR rules, if accommodation is not provided. The Fellow will be eligible for 3% annual increase on completion of one year from the date of joining, as applicable under rules. Mode of Selection: Mere fulfilment of essential educational qualification and experience will not vest any right on the candidate to be called for interview/test. The Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for short-listing the candidates based on their (applicants) entire academic career and experience. Only the short-listed candidates will be called for interview/test. Details of short-listed candidates to be called for interview, date of interview,

change of date, selection result, cancellation of one or all posts, corrigendum etc. will be notified on CSIR-

IMMT website.

No. and the position applied for on the top of the envelope containing the application. Candidates are advised to submit only one application indicating the range(s) for which he/she is to be considered. Those candidates who have already availed the Scheme and served as Fellow (Scientist) in any of the CSIR Laboratories/Institutes are not eligible. The decision of CSIR/IMMT in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, shortlisting, mode of selection and conduct of interview will be final. The number of vacancies shown above is provisional and may vary at the time of actual selection. CSIR-IMMT reserves the right not fill up any or all the positions if it is so desired. Candidates already employed in Govt. Departments/Public Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies should produce a „No Objection Certificate‟ or an undertaking that they w ill produce the same in the event of their selection.
