Q8 BitumenQ8 Bitumen is a high quality product produced in three
types, Penetration,
Hard and Industrial, all derived from Kuwait Export Crude
(K.E.C). The
applications for Q8 Bitumen range from road asphalts to printing
inks.

Penetration Grade Bitumens are manufactured by fractional
distillationin a vacuum distillation column and are therefore
straight run products.
Penetration (or paving grade bitumens) are designated by the
penetration
rating, following the grading system of the European Standard
EN12591.
Applications include:
Hot asphalt and mastic asphalt applications
Dike reinforcementEmulsion production
Modified asphalt production
Hard & Industrial Grade Bitumen products are manufactured
bypropane extraction (PPA), blending of PPA and vacuum bottoms and
by
blowing (H95) respectively. Applications include:
Printing ink
Mastic asphalt production
Thin layers for road building (high modulus bitumen
concrete)
CertificationProduction of Q8 Bitumen is conducted under quality
and environmental
management systems certified by Lloyds Register Quality
AssuranceNEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000 and NEN-EN-ISO 14001:2004.

Q8 Bitumen benefits from a unique position in the petroleum
market.
We have our own source of crude oil, Kuwait Export Crude
(K.E.C.), and
Q8 Bitumen is only derived from this feedstock.
The quality trail continues through the refining stage as we
only use
one of our four refineries to manufacture bitumen, Q8 Europoort
in
Rotterdam. Only using the one plant guarantees our customers
a
consistency of product quality from one year to the next.
