1 Medical facilities and Mayville State 8/23/2019 12:27 PM
2 I enjoy the small town atmosphere 8/23/2019 7:40 AM
3 It’s a beautiful small town with great people 8/12/2019 4:55 AM
4 Mayville-Portland is a cold community. These communities have a very difficult time comingtogether and the people in Mayville are extremely clicke. The City Council of Mayville should beashamed of it's Park Board and their total inability to support a summer rec program. We are theonly community in this area that doesn't support a summer ball program, what kind of messagedoes that send our kids and the parents of the kids. IT'S SIMPLE, PARK BOARD SIMPLYDOESN'T CARE! I've watched a member of the Park Board rig of temporary fixes to try and get bywhen it just ends up creating a bigger problem in the end. The water park that the Park Boardfunds is an absolute riot. There's a heater for the pool but it can only be run during ours ofoperation? And the Park Board can't afford to buy a solar cover for the pool? And the Park Boardcan't afford to install strips on the stairs of the slide at the pool to prevent someone from slippingand falling, which there were 2 injuries this summer, once which involved a child breaking his foot.So again, the inability to spend money once again shows the city doesn't care! The cities ofPortland, Clifford and Galesburg give $1k or more annual to the MPCG Baseball Booster andMayville gives the same which is rather pathetic considering what they invest into the water parkfor the same kids! There needs to be term limits for these Park Board members as we seem tohave the same people on it that aren't willing to make changes or look outside the box. For whatproperty taxes run in the city we don't have a lot to show for it! While having a college in our townis great, they bleed the community dry with all their fundraising. If their athletic programs can'tsupport themselves then they shouldn't exist. Every where you turn they have a fundraiser for theathletic program and it's very tire some to be constantly asked for donations. How bout they arelimited so our kids in our own community can do some fundraising themselves without feeling likethey are a burden to the community. Surrounding communities don't have the drama when itcomes to raising funds for their community or their kids. A simple fundraiser in the surroundingcommunities has generated 10-30k for their kids, here in Mayville only a college fundraiser can dothat. WHY IS THAT?? Mayville seems to have never been a unified community and until we getleadership into our City Council to help promote it, things likely won't change.

3 In Valley city, they have an extension run by the public school for families with younger thanschool age children to get together for about an hour each week called Family Art Hour. It’s a freeprogram for parents or guardians to bring their kids to do an arts and craft project and eat a snackfor 30 mins then the other 30 mins is for the parents and guardians to talk with other adults. It wasa really awesome way to get out of the house, stay in town (vs traveling to Fargo or Jamestown) todo free activities for the kids.

1 need more businesses. decrease in taxes. 8/23/2019 12:27 PM
2 Mayville Portland has really gone down hill. Houses and yards aren't kept up anymore, thedowntown area is empty. If someone does want to rent a building, the owners charge an arm anda leg. Some of the buildings downtown need to be cleaned up; they look terrible on the outside;even if they are vacant they should be more attractive. More businesses need to come to town.We are a college town, but no place for the college kids to go. Also, when our kids were looking torent an apartment, the rent was high and the places looked terrible and weren't kept up; some ofthem would be condemned if it was a larger city. We couldn't believe that there isn't a "code" theyneed to follow for rental property; maybe that is something the city should hire someone to lookinto; it is terrible.

15 Would love to see more done to encourage property owners to take care of their properties. Mow,repair, paint, etc. Some are really starting to look horrible and it makes the city in general lookuncared for.

17 How can we better use the Armory? Can we have more intermural sports, or classes for adults? Also, having more communication about events happening in town would be helpful. We tend toparticipate in events other places because I work out of town, but it would be nice to see somemore ads in the paper or social media posts about what is going on.

18 More things for the kids to do or more events 7/29/2019 10:24 AM
19 Mayville is a city with antiquainted norms. Not open to new ideas and do not like to set otherssucceed. No real sense of community. This has come about over the last 10 years. It needs toembrace the fact that it truly is a bedroom community and make activities more accessible forthose working out of town
