The e-bulletin presents books, albums, photographs and ancient docu-ments as they have been transmitted to us by their creators

and by amateurs from past generations.

The physical descriptions, attributions, origins, place and date of printing of books and photographs have been carefully ascertained by collations and comparisons with other prints

or comparable samples (from our picture library).

The books and photographs from all around the world are presentedin chronological order. It is the privilege of ancient and authentic

things to be presented in this fashion, mirroring the flow of ideas andcreations.

All the items presented are available at the time of transmission. The prices are denominated in euro. Paypal is accepted. Priority is

given to the first outright purchase, confirmed by email to

isaac kitrosser (1899-1984). no title, france, summer 1940

Vintage silver print, 132x178 mm, stamped verso.“Né à Soraka (Russie) en 1899 d'un père daguerréotypiste, Isaac Kitrosser poursuit des étudesà l'université de Prague, avant de s'installer en France en 1922 où il entame une carrière pho-tographique. Il ouvre à Paris un magasin de matériel et d'accessoires photographiques, avantde devenir photographe de plateau pour Abel Gance. Lucien Vogel remarque son travail etl'engage chez Vu où Kitrosser devient photoreporter. Cet emploi lui permet, selon ses propresmots, d' « immobiliser la vie ». Vers 1938, il quitte Vu et devient correspondant à Life... deforêts pour isoler les arbres morts, détection d'hommes camouflés, conception de tubescathodiques... Durant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, Kitrosser se réfugie à Puget-Théniers etentre dans la résistance. Arrêté par la Gestapo, il est interné au camp de Septfonds où il pren-dra des clichés sous prétexte de faire des photographies d'identité. Ces images ont été publiéesen 1942 dans Paris-Match. Après sa libération, Kitrosser continue de travailler avec Paris-Matchpour lequel il multiplie les reportages...” (Notice Musée de Bièvres) € 200
