◦ We offer a unique way to measure the characteristics and flow dynamics of liquids. The golf ball sized smart sensors are free-flowing, i.e. neutrally buoyant in any liquid, move with the flow, and measure the parameters of interest (e.g. flow speed, pressure or temperature, in single and multiphase fluids) while flowing through the pipeline or industrial installation. They are designed for frequent use under operational conditions allowing for increasingly precise data analytics.
◦ The solution is particularly suited for oil and gas pipelines. It gives an early stage indication of changes in the pipeline, for instance caused by the built up of sedimentation. This reduces inspection costs (direct) and improves preventive maintenance leading to lower repair and replacement costs and reducing the risk of very costly incidents.
Application areas
•Flow dynamics and leakdetection
•Pipeline bore / gauging •Pipeline tampering•Process optimization
Monitor pipeline
changes over time
•Replace infrastructure when needed and not based on age
•Reduced risk of high cost, high impact incidents
Preventive maintenance
and cost reduction
•Early stage indication of upcoming problems
•Reduce inspection costs and risks exposure during inspections
•Increasingly accurate analysis as data accumulates
Characteristics and
opportunities
•Golf ball-sized (1.5 inch)•Free flowing, i.e. neutrally
buoyant in any liquid•Designed for frequent use
under operational conditions

UT (Ultrasonic) Inspection Services
We offer our state-of-art Ultrasonic Inspection Technology for liquid product !Ines (or gas pipelines using liquid batch). Benefit of UT is direct measurement of remaining pipe wall thickness, giving accurate readings In mm. UT tools can detect size and Identify most types of anomalies MFL can, and In addition to that UT Is able to detect mid-wall anomalies, such as laminations.
COMBO-Inspection (All-In-One}
In most cases inspection campaign consists of multiple types of inspection. Design of LiNSCAN tools allows performing two or more Inspection tasks In one tool run, using a combo Inspection vehicle. Such solution helps to reduce number of runs, and therefore in section cost to pipeline operator, as well as risks. Combo tool ls not just two or three tools mechanically joined together. Generation 4 of Electronic Tool Control supports synchronization of signals coming from different units of a combo tool (e.g. from MFL, Caliper and XYZ mapping) into one united set of inspection data ,over lapping geometry data with metal loss and GPS locating.
TFI (Transverse Field) Inspection Services
In TFI series of tools we use transverse magnetic fleldtechnology, In combination with one of the smallest sensor spacing in the industry for high-resolution inspection. TFI is a perfect solution for identification of pipeline anomalies which are axially oriented, and which cannot be identified with MFL(e.g. axial slotting. Axial grooving, axial cracks). Combined Inspection using MFL and TFI tools gives a complex view on Integrity of pipelines and provides even more accurate sizing of anomalies, as they are scanned in two different directions of magnetic fleld.
Our high-resolution MFL tools are the best solution for inspection of most types of circumferentially oriented pipeline defects and features. Extra small sensor spacing provides Improved detection, sizing and identification of pipeline anomalies of different origin, both internal and external. Remaining wall thickness is measured in % of nominal thickness. High performance of our MFL inspection tools is less sensitive to reduced pipeline cleanness and difficult operation conditions.
XYZ (pipeline 3D mapping) Purpose of three dimensional or XYZ pipeline mapping is building pipeline profile with binding it to GPS coordinates, enabling pipeline operator to locate reported pipeline anomalies and other features. Besides that XYZ mapping data are crucial part of Integrity evaluation, as they are used to detect pipeline movement and calculate bending strain and points of risk to a pipeline. LiN SCAN developed IMU inspection tools, which can be used both as a separate vehicle or combined with Callper, MFL or other tool. Acquired pipeline profile can be then laid over any online maps)’ Stem Inspection services
GEO (Geometry)Inspection Services
Inspection of inner geometry of pipelines not only provides important data on minimal bore, but also gives full detection and sizing of geometry anomalies and mechanical damage, such as ovality, dents, buckles, which may cause stress concentration in pipeline wall, leading to pipeline failure. LiN SCAN Caliper GEO tools use highly sensitive mechanical measurement arms being In direct contact with pipe wall and covering 360• of pipe circumference. Our Caliper tools are multi channel, meaning that each measurement arms equipped with individual sensor independent from o1hers and each having a separate signal channel, providing high measurement resolution.

36” pipeline isolation joint repair in Oman Client Van Oord Location Qatar Water depth Pipeline Specification: Design Pressure : 92 bar Design Temperature : 500C Activities Design of repair FAT, SIT etc. Design and CAD Development of procedures Execution Duration 2016
An isolation joint (as part of the cathodic protection system) of a 36” pipeline was leaking through the internal sealing mechanism of the joint. It was not possible to isolate this joint implying that the repair had to be applied live. Therefore one of the critical aspects of this repair application was the associated safety aspects of diverting the leaking gas from the joint while the repair was being implemented.
Insulation joint The installation procedure for the clamp and composite repair consisted of the following steps;
1. Clean surface of joint and seal leak 2. Apply temporary clamp and gas diversion system 3. Prepare surface of pipeline 4. Apply composite repair 5. Perform QA/QC checks
Scope of work
Challenges To overcome challenges associated with the project co-ordination and planning associated with a job of th scale. The greatest challenge was the assurance of safety during the repair application.

South Stream Offshore Pipeline FEED Client Intecsea- South Stream Location Water depth Activities Duration
Active partner of INTECSEA during the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) of the South Stream Offshore Pipeline project. South Stream is a pipeline system across the Black Sea for supply of natural gas to southern Europe. The pipeline system is extremely challenging from a technical perspective due to: Water depths along the route exceeding 2200m, Large pipeline diameter, 32”, Challenging conditions of the Black Sea environment at continental shelfs and abyssal plain, Difficult seabed conditions with steep slopes and geohazard risk, Potentially aggressive / corrosive subsea environment. EPRS design and development for NGL pipeline Client SUKEP Location UK Water depth Landline Activities EPRS Excavation EPRS presentation Simulated modelling GIS coordinates Duration 2015 - 2016
The 20” NGL pipeline is a 224km long pipe which starts at the Separation Plant at St Fergus and ends at the terminal at Mossmorran. Sectional isolation facilities include 21 block valves situated along its route at intervals <12km. Integrity of the NGL pipeline is monitored using three different techniques; acoustic monitoring, mass balance and pressure rate of change. Cathodic protection(CP) of the pipeline is provided by impressed current systems spread over 14 CP stations along the pipeline, shared jointly with British Gas and BP.
Pipeline path The objective of the project was to identify, understand and develop the activities and engineering solution required for an emergency pipeline repair solution.
FEED and detailed design inclusive of a workshop conducted whereby damage scenarios and possible repair methods were identified and their applicability to the NGL discussed. The Workshop concluded with the selection of the Hot Tap and Plug (HT&P) repair method for major damage and Epoxy clamp/wrap repair for minor damage. Other follow-up actions associated with repair-related operational procedures were also identified and consolidated into a document for tracking. A repair manual was developed; providing the end-user with a detailed procedure on how to execute the repair should the need arise.
3D representation of valve station repair Long lead items will be identified, detailed and proposed to be procured, requirements for service contract arrangements will also be detailed, with the intent on minimizing production downtime i.e. duration from the start of event to recommissioning and restart of production.
