Snippets from the Base Information CircularA reminder about Pet Ownership in the PMA
For those living on base, a quick reminder that pets such as cats and dogs must be registered with Mitchell Shire. Whilst it is very tempting to let your well-behaved pet pooch wander off leash, you can only do so in your yard or the designated off-leash area, east of Shell Green cricket ground (oval 5).
When you are in this area, be mindful that it not just for dogs, so maintain control of your dog and be aware of other people enjoying the space.
Please also remember that Vic road rules apply in the base, so you can’t just walk along the road. You need to the footpaths or off-road grassed/dirt areas whilst walking, not the roads.
Remember not to wander into the restricted operational areas of the base, which were mentioned in the previous Boomerang (Mont St Quentin Road; Blamey Road (at intersection with Bardia Blvd); Blamey Road (at intersection with Passchendaele Pde) and Malaya Road (Westerly direction from Married Quarters to Morobe Rd). PAAB Grant apps close 30 June
The Puckapunyal Area Amenities Board (PAAB) is accepting grant applications from community groups and associations in the PMA that will enhance the quality of life of the PMA community.
Applications close on 30 June 17, and organisations will be informed of the Board’s decisions in late July/early August, following the PAAB Annual General Meeting.
Application forms and advice can be requested by emailing [email protected].
Disposal of MQ Green WasteMQ residents are reminded to
dispose of green waste at the green waste site, not on vacant blocks or over your back fence.
The base green waste site is at the corner of Mont St Quentin and Salamaua Roads (adjacent to JLU(V)-P).
It can be accessed Mon – Fri 0900 –1600 h (including public holidays), and Sat – Sun 1200 – 1600 h. Parking vehicles in the MQ
Readers are reminded that vehicles within the PMA have to be parked in areas specifically set aside for such a purpose (ie the side of the road, your driveway, etc). Nobody is permitted to park on grassed areas such as the vacant blocks and nature strips throughout the married quarter.
If you have friends or family coming over to visit on the weekend or school holidays, make sure they do the right thing too.
Did you know… the Boomerang is also available on the PDNC website at http://puckacommunity.org.au/boomerang/.
