PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT (PWD), Govt. of Tamil Nadu invites Online applicationfrom eligible Graduate/Diploma holders in Engineering (passed during 2016/2017/0r 2018), hailingfrom Tamilnadu, for undergoing one year Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship(Amendment) Act 1973.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Category - I Graduate Apprentices:-

[j A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in relevantdiscipline.

. D A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grantsuch degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline.

D Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognised by the State Government orCentral Government as equivalent to above.

B. Category - 11Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:-

D A Diploma in Engineering or technology granted by a State Council or Board ofTechnical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.

D A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in relevant discipline.

D A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by theState Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.

Ill. AGE:Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.

RESERVATION OF VACANCIES:Guidelines under Apprentices Act on Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be

followed.

V. Mll 'IMUM PHYSICAL STANDARDS:As prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992, and amendments thereof if

any.

\'f. DURATION OF TRAINING:The duration of Apprenticeship trairung will be for a period of

011 year as per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.

VII. PREVIOUS TRAINING/EXPERIE TCE:Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship

under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or having one year or more experience arenot eligible to apply.

VI[l. . 'ELECTION PROCEDURE:

Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) is interested with the task of preparation ofshortlist from the online application data. Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on thepercentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respeciiv .disciplines. Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through their registered Email id.Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Certificate Verification at Board of Apprenticeshipl'raining (SR), Chennai.

I.. 1RA VEL EXPE SES: No TA I DA will be paid for attending certificate verification.

X. BOARD1 G/LODGING: 0 boarding or lodging expenses are admissible

XII. Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period, PWD shall have no obligation to offeremployment to such apprentices nor can an apprentice claim right for employment on thegrounds of completion of Apprenticeship.
