Outline

I. IntroductionToday is Thursday but Dwight thinks its Friday, and thats what Ill be working on thisafternoon.

Meg, who let you back in the house?

Television, I love it. Ive always loved it. Who doesnt enjoy being sucked into a story?

-Television provides entertainment, knowledge; anything you can think of they can make

a show about.

-Now dont get me wrong, I love reading and I do other things than just watch TV, butthe art of drawing someone in and injecting them with a story filled with humor, drama,

and love, that is my passion.

II. Body

A. My enjoyment of television goes all the way back to when I was a kid.

-I learned how to tell time from the Rugrats.-I wasnt allowed to watch TV on the weekdays.

-I have always wanted to be an actress,

-I took TV Production and Film class in High School

B. In June, I started working at WCNC News Channel 36. I am a Production Assistant for

Charlotte Today. Its a lifestyle show with two hosts, Colleen Odegard and Rob Tanner.

We have special guests, chefs, musicians, and of course weather anchor, Larry Sprinklelikes to come on and goof around from time to time.

-Charlotte Today is a NBC show.

-What do I do at my job?-Learning from my co-workers. (assignments, sweeps)

-Having my foot in the door in the real world has been an amazing experience.

C. In the Future, after I graduate, I plan on continuing my path in Television.

-Right now I have a wonderful job at Charlotte Today, but ultimately I would like to

move my focus to sitcoms.

-As I said before, I have been acting since pre-school, most of my best friendships wereforged during a musical or play.

-The actors, the energy and humor, and the thrill of a story all draw me to sitcoms. I want

to be an executive Producer for a hit show.

-I work at NBC, how cool is that? It is the network that I hope to work for in the future.-Now for a good provocative drama, I may turn to HBO or AMC, but for sitcoms, NBC

will always be home.

III. Conclusion

I want to put a smile on peoples faces because last nights episode of their favorite sitcom

was so good that they keep playing it over and over again in their heads.

-In a time when poverty, hunger, and violence are on a rise, I want to make people laugh,forget their worries even for a few minutes.

-I want to give them a reason to smile, even if it is smile caused by an artificial scenario,

it is still a smile,-I hope that one day when you are watching a show you see my name scroll by during thecredits, every time it does, youll know Im happy.
