Teacher Appreciation Week During the week of May 3-7th, teachers were cele-brated at Butler Creek. Our Butler Creek teachers put their heart and soul into your child’s educational learning experience. Let’s be sure to thank them for a great year!

A big THANK YOU goes out to many of our students and families for supporting our

“Coins for Technology” drive at Butler Creek. We need everyone’s help for this fundraiser.

All students and teachers will benefit in better technology at Butler Creek. So, bring in your loose coins and drop them in!! We’re over $5,000.00 now!

day. The top “5” sellers will receive a prize.

Field Day The most fun day of the

year is FIELD DAY!! Mr. Brennan is gathering

some fun activities to do on Tuesday, June 8th!

Be sure to wear tennis shoes and bring some extra clothes in case you get wet or dirty.

If you book a party at regular price by June 30th and mention that you heard

about the Game Truck at the Butler Creek Carnival, then Game Truck will donate

$20 to the Butler Creek PTA! Offer not valid with any discounts or coupons. Deposit must be received by June 30, 2010.

Finsaas : I want to praise all my students for having 100% participation in the PTA Books and Beyond program this year!

Buczkowski: Semion Sayenko, Carter Darby, and

Hiley Ingham Clingan: Michael Betcher for sense of humor and

William Khrab for responsibility. Lord/Young: Room 408 - Young/Lord would like

to recognize Julia Bezzubets for making the most out of every learning opportunity, giving her maximum effort in class and on her assign-ments, as well as showing that she is truly learning what is being taught through her insights, questions and work ethic. Savannah Helwig for raising her hand to participate in class, willingly sharing her thoughts and answers, as well as having the confidence in herself and what she has to offer. Martha Pastor for making the effort to turn in her work and have her planner signed daily, as well as thinking deeply about a variety of texts during our inferring unit. Her insights prove she has a true understanding of literacy and its underlying meaning. Anthony Chan for being reliable, setting a positive example for our classroom each and every day and for being the student we know will follow our expectations no matter what!

Miller: I’d like to recognize the following stu-

dents in Rm 303 for their hard work: Lizbeth Meza for getting her work turned in on time, Alana Garrett for improvement in her reading, and Cole Jette for doing his personal best.

Luxton: I'd like to recognize Michael for always

doing what is right and helping his classmates do the same, Jake for his hard work and perse-verance in writing, and Tommy for his creative thinking and academic achievement!

Stewart: Congratulations to Alexi Howard who was the recipient of the Brilliant Bobcat Award for April for her fantastic effort in writing! I would also like to recognize these students for challenge themselves in reading and/or writing:

AM: Jordan Montiel, Josephine Hoppel, Jaxen Price, Rachael Carrasco, and Vadim Guzenko.

PM: David Bezzubets, Joel Antich, Kate Greisen, and Sierra Alfano, Taevin Danner

Helin: Kristina Gergalo for her positive attitude

and consistency in making wonderful choices! She is such a dedicated learner. Ethan Thomson for working on his personal learning goal everyday and for his creative stories in writing. Bryana Shelley for her effort in writing book reviews with a lot of voice and heart. Long Lam for trying to participate more in class discussions and for his dedication on working on his personal learning goal.

Price: I would like to recognize Jacquelyn

Matulewicz for her kind friendship towards others, T.J. Tyler for his perseverance towards completing his assignments, and Michael Ramirez for assisting students in other classrooms each Wednesday. Keep up the great work!

Nixon: Megan Byram is new to Butler Creek and

is a wonderful addition! Jessica Schroeder met all her OAKS state tests for the first time this year! Brittney Pioquinto for getting a 260 score on her math OAKS test, Wow!

Cook: Alberto Hernandez-Gonzalez for taking

responsibility to be a strong learner. Brayden Hoberg for his growth in reading and writing. Josiah Yelverton for his efforts to read! Mark David Vdovin for making responsible choices enabling you to be an amazing learner. Sahar Nurani for working hard on learning your numbers and telling me everything you know!

WOW! Butler Creek students read a total of 1,510,100 minutes this year, 302 students earned medals and 171 ribbons were awarded. Kailea Messenger, Miller's 4th grade class was the #1

reader this year, earning a medal and 5 ribbons. Strickland’s class were #1 for total minutes read, with more than 147,000 minutes. 100% class participation: Sippel/Buczkowski, Finsaas, Price and

Strickland! WOW! Awesome! We are all really proud of you for completing your goal!
