Psychological and social problems are two way thing, thepsychological problem can creates a social issue and a itcan be reverse

Society, females suffer from depression twice as much asthe males.

A study was conducted during 2000-04 studyingdepression in upper class 33% patients were males and67% were females

Major Causes in Pakistan: Marital/impersonal Conflicts,bereavement, loss in business, work stress, living farfrom children, divorce, traumatic experience, low self-Esteem

Depression causes other psychological problems like

Social Phobia/Anxiety: during depression, socialwithdrawal is common creating fear from social interaction

and situation called social phobia. The reverse is alsopossible.

Example: upper class in Pakistan has a low self esteem, sothey are fearful of embarrassment so they feel

uncomfortable while performing in front of others

Social phobia results in adjustment disorder, as social

interaction is difficult the adjustment in differentsituation also becomes difficult.

Females in upper class of Pakistan suffer from maritalconflicts, they also suffer from adjustment disorder,adjustment becomes difficult and takes the marriage

Attention deficit disorder: lack of attention causes socialanxiety, adjustment disorders and other psychological

problems Separation Anxiety Disorder: it is almost same creating a

fear of schools and social interaction with peers, it alsocreates academic adjustment disorder.

Results: this results in depression, conduct disorders, no

control over anger and attraction towards unhealthyactivities like drugs, a social problem

As the depression increases, anxiety also increases and

man lose control over himself.

The major type of impulse control disorder is the Anger

Control Problems causing violence and stealing This is also common in Pakistan as according to the

earlier mentioned studies 3.6% females are sufferingfrom domestic violence.

This is also the case with the servants of the upper classfamilies, people thrash their servants even on the basis ofsmall doubts and mistakes

intensity and the cause of the problem make them for thespecific class

Drug Addiction & Alcoholism, a very common socialproblem in Pakistan upper class. It is growing in femalesfaster than men.

Problems like depression (due to various reason), societyphobia, domestic violence are the major causes of theincreasing trend of drug addiction in Pakistan

According to a headmistress of a girls college in Lahore,

the causes of drug and alcoholism are: lose weight, relieve stress or boredom, improve their mood,

reduce sexual inhibitions, self-medicate depression and increaseconfidence

Domestic violence: defined as a pattern of abusive

behaviors by one or both partners in an intimaterelationship such as marriage, dating, family, friends or

cohabitation Its a major cause of depression, drug addiction and social

phobia

One woman said she had suffered from physical, mental

and financial abuse before turning to drugs.I dont know why I didnt realize it, the woman, 42,said of her addiction, but I didnt deserve what myhusband put me through.

the upper class the causes of these problems defines

them whether its for upper , middle or lower class ofsociety

Psychological and social problems cant be isolated, theyoverlapped. Some psychological problems ultimately

becomes the social problems and vice versa.
