RemarksEarthing of Diesel Generator Construction QC
Ensure the neutrals of generator shall be connected to dedicated
earth
electrode.
All incoming armoured cables shall be bonded either to the earth
ring.
All earthing connection shall be thoroughly cleaned then coated
with copper
based anti-size grease after assembly.
Measure the continuity of diesel generator earthing to main
earth.
Check the condition of earthing bar and connections.
DG bonding connections are in good condition and tight.
Check DG Earthing has been performed correctly according to
approveddrawing.
Check the diesel generator body properly earthed.
All earthing cables shall be terminated at equipment or bus-bars
using a
crimped type cable lug.

All earthing connection shall be thoroughly cleaned then coated
with copper
based anti-size grease after assembly.
Check CCB equipment earthing continuity and resistance value
Ohms.
All incoming armoured cables shall be bonded either to the earth
ring.
PECs of cable trenches shall be bonded to the substation earth
ring.
Check the transformer body properly earthed
Central control building earthing as per drawing.
Condition of Neutral Earth & Neutral Earth continuity in m.
Ohms.
Measure the continuity of switchboard to main earth
Test continuity of earth electrode to transformer star point
Check transformer with star winding neutral shall be connected
to separate
earth pit as shown for both primary & secondary.
Check all electrical equipment earthing continuity.
All earthing cables shall be terminated at equipment or bus-bars
using a
crimped type cable lug.
All substation equipment bonding connections are in good
condition andtight.
Sub-distribution boards shall be connected to the earth bar by
two earthing
conductors.
Ensure Metallic enclosures of HV electrical equipment in
substation earthing
cable shall be 300mm.
Where surge arrestor are provided in HV and MV transformer
terminal
boxes, these shall be connected to dedicated supplementary earth
electrode
which shall be interconnected separately with transformer
neutral earth pits
and body earth pits.
Check the condition of earthing bar and connections.
Check Substation Earth grid Earthing cable shall be 300mm.
