  Typeface influences:

◦  Berthold Type Foundry in Berlin (1910)

  Stepped in to interior design making furniture, rugs, wallpaper and lighting fixtures (1910’s)

  In 1923 he came to America and established himself as a graphic designer

  In 1928 he contracted with American Type Founders Association and created over 30 fonts
