ROTARY HOSPITAL- BED BANK(PROYECTO BANCO CATRES CLÍNICOS)
Concretización Proyecto.
Rotary Club of Port Melbourne, ‘Donations in Kind’ in Autralia and RC Valdivia-Ainil in Chile, have agreed on an ambitious project to supply hospital grade beds to permanently bed-bound and terminally ill patients living at home and in the care of their families

The project was agreed to at a conference held in Valdivia, Chile on 29 / 09 / 2013 between President Silvia López of RC Valdivia-Ainil and President Ricardo Krauskopf of RC Port Melbourne together with DG Ronald Keith Geimer, RI District 4355 (Chile) and Int. Director Fernando Meir, RC Valdivia-Ainil
PROYECTO BANCO DE CATRES CLÍNICOS
Volunteers from Rotary ‘Donations In Kind’, RC Port Melbourne and members of the Chilean Community in Melbourne joined hands with many other Rotary Clubs to load beds , matresses and clothing donated by St. Vincent’s Hospital, Alfred Hospital, DIK and United Basketball.

Many hands make light work;Volunteers from RCPM, DIK and chilean community, desinfecting, packing and loading containers at Donations in Kind wharehouse in West Footscray.

In Melbourne, many members of RC Port Melbourne and students at Mac Roberston’s Girls High volunteered many hours at Bunnings BBQ’s to raise funds for the project

In Valdivia, members of RC Valdivia-Ainil and their community, likewise, grilled ‘Choripanes’ and held auctions to raise funds for the project’s cost at their end.
PROYECTO BANCO DE CATRES CLÍNICOS
RC Valdivia-Ainil has identified an enormous need for hospital beds among terminally ill and permanently disabled people, living at home in the care of family. They aim to service an area of up to 1,000,000 residents.

The container, including 60 beds, mattresses and clothing finally arrives in Valdivia on 22nd. April

Members and friends get together to unload the precios cargo at the newly set-up wharehouse which is to house the ‘Banco de Catres Clinicos’.
