I came to Hillsong College when I was twenty. You can go to many colleges and learn a lot academically about ministry; you will study a lot and take tests. But the ability to immediately outwork what you’re learning at Hillsong College is bar none, you can’t beat it. I was doing ministry the whole time I was in school.

I’m guilty of Pinterest being a contributing factor in shaping my expectation of what Sydney life would be like, but nothing compares to actually experiencing it for real. The constant traffic that flows through and around the streets, the friendly clerks at the grocery store, not to mention the convenience of a promising cafe on every corner… there is nowhere like Sydney! It’s a place full of life and activity. The city is alive and beautiful and it continues to amaze and delight me. I couldn’t have asked for a more adventurous and welcoming place to live while studying at Hillsong College and without doubt, it has become my home away from home.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL

ALEX GRAYDiploma Student from USA

When I first entered one of the classrooms here at college, our Executive Vice President, Lee Burns said something I had never heard before, “We believe in you more than you believe in yourself.” I thought that would be a one-time thing, but for the rest of my journey at Hillsong College, that statement has proven true time and time again. The leadership has totally changed my life, whether it’s staying after school to talk about some of the challenges in my life or grabbing coffee early in the morning to sort out what teams need to be created for a better college experience. From one-on-one relationships to leading from the platform, world-class leadership emanates from every aspect of this college. I am so very proud of who they are and the part we all play in seeing Hillsong College go to new levels!

HIGHER EDUCATION AWARDSIn partnership with Alphacrucis College here in Sydney, Hillsong College provides the opportunity for Bachelor and Masters Degree level study in Theology, Ministry, and Leadership. These degrees allow students and leaders to grow in knowledge and acquire the necessary tools to lead churches and ministries. This is achieved through a greater depth of theological, biblical, Christian history, and leadership studies, whilst being strategically connected with Hillsong College and the Hillsong Church community.

It is the community and life of Hillsong Church that sets these degree awards apart from others like it. The placement of Hillsong College within Hillsong Church gives students the opportunity to constantly apply and outwork what it is they’re learning in the classroom in a church setting. Students don’t receive “head knowledge” that is detached from daily ministry life but are equipped in greater depth with biblical, theological, and leadership teaching to then take that and apply it into church life.

Visit hillsong.com/college/degree/ for more exhaustive and up-to-date information about the degree programs

BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY (BTh)The Bachelor of Theology is designed to prepare students for ministry in the 21st Century Church. It is a dynamic and inspiring program that allows you to customise the subject areas that are most suitable to prepare you for your life and ministry. The combination of the subjects and course contents combined with the life-giving community of Hillsong College and Hillsong Church make this degree a wonderful choice for anyone looking to grow in their knowledge of the Word and areas of theology while serving in and being a part of a thriving local church.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL

SHEENA GROATDiploma Student from Canada

It is incredible as a college to come under the greater creative team during conferences and special events. I had the opportunity to take part in the opener for Colour Conference - it was something I will never forget. I received a deeper revelation of the Father’s redeeming love every time we stepped on the platform. I love how we serve a God Who speaks individually as well as corporately. Not only did He speak to each delegate but He also ministered to us as we ministered from the platform. The fact that as college students, we get to take part in these events is completely humbling.

ALUMNI TESTIMONIAL

CHRIS MENDEZLead Pastor, Hillsong South America

Alumni 2005

The three years I was privileged to attend our Hillsong College were truly life changing. The impartation received for everyday life, leadership, ministry and my God-given calling is something that set me on course for all that I am doing today. The most rewarding part of those three years was at the end of that season when my wife Lucy said to me, “You have become a better husband and father”. That made the time, energy and investment well worth it and I’m forever grateful as I walked away having received so much more than I expected.

Page 74: PROSPECTUS · life of leadership and impact in line with your God-given purpose. Leadership is a many-faceted discipline, combining self-mastery, inter-personal influence and ministry

74

Hillsong College completely changed my life. It is the greatest environment in which to begin outworking all the dreams that God has put in your heart. Even if you don’t want to be on a church staff, for believers and followers of Christ, you will never regret doing either one, two or three years to make your foundation solid in the person God has called you to be, what ever that may look like.

Something I learnt while attending College that helped shape me as a leader and continues to sharpen me to this day, is the importance of being faithful with what God has put in my hand right at this very moment. This principle came from a message Pastor Brian spoke on ‘Being faithful with what’s in your hand to fulfill what’s in your heart’ and the lessons I took from that have continued to help me through seasons of challenges and joys as a worship leader. Truly, what God did in me at college is what continues to sustain me as a person and a

ministry leader to this day.

MY APPLICATION?Once we have received your completed application, you will receive a response in a few days. If your application is incomplete, we will contact you requesting the submission of the remaining aspects of your application. Please

note that incomplete applications cannot be processed.

WHAT IF I HAVEN’T KNOWN MY PASTOR FOR MORE THAN 12 MONTHS?

character references.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HILLS AND CITY CAMPUS? WHICH IS THE BETTER OF THE TWO?

Although they differ in location, academically there is no difference between our two campuses. The courses are identical and our key pastoral and lecturing

staff teach at both campuses equally.

CAN I STUDY PASTORAL LEADERSHIP AND WORSHIP MUSIC AT THE SAME TIME? OR CAN I STUDY TV & MEDIA

AND WORSHIP MUSIC AT THE SAME TIME?Due to the course load, it is not possible to study more than one Stream at a

time.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS LIKE AT HILLSONG COLLEGE? DO STUDENTS HAVE A DAY OFF? WHAT DOES ‘WEEKEND

REQUIREMENTS’ MEAN?College runs from 8:00am until approximately 3:00-4:00pm, four days per week - (daily finish times vary depending on your personal timetable). Students are also given the opportunity to serve in two of the weekend church services as a part of their course. You will receive one day off in the Mon-Fri week.

WHY DO STREAM FEES DIFFER FROM ONE ANOTHER?Streams differ with regard to the number of trainers as well as the type and amount of equipment and resources required to provide each student with the best training experience. Fee variation between Streams reflects the higher trainer to student ratio and more expensive equipment requirements for training in certain areas of ministry. Our fees are calculated to allow effective resourcing for each Stream accordingly, thus ensuring the entire learning

experience is as rewarding for the student as possible.
