Assessment Work Performed on Regis Resources Mining Claims 1104302, 1104303 & 1104304
Work Performed January 12th to February 16tt\ 2009
This is the report for the fieldwork and the assay results for the Regis Resources mining claims 1104302, 1104303 and 1104304.
These claims were originally staked on April 19, 1999 and ownership was transferred 100 % to Regis Resources Inc. December 15, 2006. The three claims are located in the northeastern section of Cavendish Township next to the Kawartha HigWands Park, ,md are part of Regis Resources' main block of claims.
As a part of this assessment, previous work on these claims from 2004 and 2007 was reviewed and it appears that marble lenses conducive to vermiculite formation are evident on the claims. The vegetation varies from mixed bush, open hardwoods to wet cedar swamps. Generally, most of the area underlying our claims is dominated by granite or marble. The vermiculite bearing marble erodes more quickly than the granite units and is mostly covered by various types of overburden, which varies from a few centimeters to a few meters depth, with the possibility of greater depths in the swamp areas. Outcrops and ridges in 1104302 trend northeast about 30 degrees and tend to turn more to the east as you travel through 1104303 and 1104304.
The use of the Sumitomo mini-excavator (previously used to do trenching in this area) was impractical for this assessment work because of the depth of snow. The assessment work was hampered by the severe weather conditions and equipment breakdowns. Access was gained via snowmobile trails with the ATV's and all sampling was done with hand augers. We performed only minimal work on claim 1104302, as previous surface reconnaissance showed little in the way of surface marble exposure. Future exploration on 1104302 will require the excavator to probe below the heavy overburden.
Focus this season was to expand the areas sampled in previous years on claims 1104303 and 1104304. The samples taken from 1104303 and 1104304 were mostly bro'WTI, dark brown or light grey brown flakes. A few samples from 1104304 revealed some potential for future investigation -larger flakes of mica. However the assay results were not as promising. These samples were obtained only with the use of a hand auger, and it is presumed that deeper trenching in some areas with the use of the mini-excavator may be more conclusive.
Regis Resources, Inc. is Canada's only vermiculite mining/milling operation and has now started to look into other mineral opportunities, in particular uranium. Last summer, Eric Moeller, a registered professional geologist and Regis' major consultant spent considerable time and effort identifying past activity in the area of uranium underground mining and drilling from the 1950's. Also, Dr. Mike Easton, Provincial Geologist, Sudbury, completed a two season field expedition for Cavendish Township which has focused on the potential for uranium in the area of these claims. His final report will be issued in the spring of2009.
The area of these claims was reviewed by Mr. Moeller and Dr. Easton for uranium potential based on previous geological maps, Air Gamma surveys, and a review of the rock types of the claims. The attached "Airborne Gamma Ray Spectrometry Compilation", after Carlson, shows a major uranium "hotspot" almost entirely covers Claim 1104304. Regis explored and prospected a cross-section of this claim for further uranium assessment. This work included looking for outcrops of "pink granites" (similar to the alaskite-hosted uranium deposits in Rossing, Namibia), and more importantly looking for marble granite skams (similar to those identified by Bancroft Uranium Inc just to the north). Economically the identification of uranium rich skams would be
very positive. To date no surface exposure of such skarns has been found in Cavendish Township, but they are prevalent just to the north. This field season did identify the host "pink granites" on surface. Regis is very interested in going forward on this claim with further
• uranium exploration.

•
Conclusion
Claim 1104302 requires further future exploration and some prospecting work. Claim 1104303 appears to have limited potential for commercial vermiculite but, due to its proximity to a major identified uranium "hotspot", demands further attention. Claim 1104304 has shown some commercial vermiculite potential. In addition the uranium potential for this claim is very promising. The 2009 field season will see some intense concentration of exploration for the possibility of uranium deposits particularly in the northeast area of these claims. Regis will need to invest in a modern RS-125 Spectrometer in order to accurately quantitatively identify field uranium/thorium values.
