Introduction

Thank you for giving us this opportunity to make a proposal on the revamping of your company web-site. I am hopeful that as we work together we can create a site that you will find very effective and ef-ficient.

Website Organization

The new design will have 7 main landing pages:

Needs

We wish to make your site more user-friendly to the college student. Our overall goal of this project is to make the experience of the user on the site as straightforward and streamlined as possible, while at the same time displaying the information in a way that is pleasing to the eye. In addition, we would like to make the website easily updateable by employees at Golden Rule Rentals. Outlined in the fol-lowing text are the deliverables to be developed for the Golden Rule Rentals website. Each item will list the deliverable, the intended goal of that deliverable, and general details.

Deliverables

1. Homepage

A central homepage will allow the user a point of entry into the site from which they can easily navigate to other areas. In total, it will include links to the following sections:

Contact Site ManagerLog In/Sign Up

A section where users may log in with a personal account. This function will recognize an administrative account owned by the site owner.

The homepage itself will not contain property listings.

Here is an example of a homepage for a property company in the Eau Claire area.

2. AboutThis section will contain general information regarding the site, including, but not limited to:

purpose, intended clientele, and primary service area. Any restrictions/rules that apply to all listed properties should be placed here as well. This section will also contain an additional link to the 'Contact Site Manager' section.

3. ListingsThis section will contain all listed properties. The initial link will open to a primary directory

containing a list of all properties, which will be organized by date listed by default, with options available to list by rent price, number of bedrooms or bathrooms, and area in square feet. Visually, each listing link will consist of a thumbnail image of the property and a title, which in turn will consist of: number of bedrooms and bathrooms, area in square feet, and rent price.

Each listing link will open to a page that includes an expanded, centered image of the property. Number of bedrooms and bathrooms will be displayed below the image. Further down, a header will include rent and utility bill information, such as base rent price, security deposit amount, and whether or not the rent includes utilities such as water, heating, electricity, and waste collection.

A second header will contain internal amenity information, such as air conditioning, laundry machines, dishwasher, etc.

A third header will contain external amenity information, such as garages, sheds, driveways, etc.

A fourth header will contain restrictions regarding pets, guests, alterations (painting, use of nails in walls, etc.), etc. If there are any universal restrictions written in the 'About' section, a link to that area should be placed here, advising the user to read them.

A fifth header will contain two links: Pictures and Map. The 'Pictures' link will contain a gallery of images taken of the house. Ideally, it will contain one of the front, encompassing the entire lawn, and an image of each room within the house, encompassing as much space if possible. If significant amounts of space are left out of any given image, additional images should be captured. The 'Map' link will open to a page containing a map of the area surrounding the house, encompassing a radius of not less than 2000 feet.

At the bottom of the individual listing will be a link labeled 'Apply For This Property'. This link will open to an area containing an application form, detailed below.

In addition, here is an example from a website that shows a similar type of layout that would be used for your listings page.

4. Site FeedbackThis link on the homepage will open to a page that contains a form wherein users may submit

feedback and suggestions regarding the site. Submitted forms will be delivered to a specific section in the administrative account.

5. RoommatesThis link on the homepage will open to a page that contains posts for those seeking roommates,

as well as a form for creating a post. The form will consist of the following fields:Name (First and last)Phone:

6. Contact Site ManagerThis section will contain contact information for the site manager. As well as being linked to the

main homepage, an additional link will be placed in the 'About' section. Ideally, this site will contain both a telephone number and an e-mail address.

7. Log In/Sign UpThis link will allow users to create a personal account, as well as allow the site administrator the

use of a specialized account to manage the site. A user account will allow management of applications, roommate posts, and messages to and from the site manager. The user account creation form will consist of the following fields:

The administrator's account will allow management of application requests, messages to and from users, as well as general site management, such as addition/removal of property listing, roommate requests, modification of same, and disabling/enabling of specific user accounts.

Training

Our Staff will incorporate an all-day training seminar for your company employees to get them ac-quainted with all the workings and intricacies of the website. We will instruct them on how to make necessary changes and updates as might be needed. Our team will also create a user friendly manual that will be used to train everyone. That way they can refer to the manual in the future if they have any questions. There will be a free lunch served at the seminar as well.

Launch

Once we have the site up and running to your satisfaction we will proceed with the launch of the new site.
