A competent family physician demonstrates life-long reflective learning, as well as the creation, dissemination, application and translation of knowledge familymedicine.uottawa.ca Family Medicine Resident Scholarly Project WHAT? A mandatory project completed over your two years A written report and oral presentation Dedicated leave to work on the project $250 dollars per resident for project costs Done alone or in groups of 2 residents maximum, except for if you do a Literature Review only 1 resident per project. familymedicine.uottawa.ca FMRSP Identify a project idea familymedicine.uottawa.ca Types of Projects Medical Education Comprehensive Literature Review Quality Improvement Humanities familymedicine.uottawa.ca Examples of projects Medical Education: An assessment of the effectiveness of skills workshop for family physicians to improve competence in doing minor procedures. Quality Improvement: Can an informative slideshow shown in the waiting room improve the uptake of colon cancer screening acceptability among our patients? Literature Review: Identification and review of effective interventions to reduce missed appointments in primary care clinic settings Humanities: Can narrative training help reduce compassion fatigue among family physicians? familymedicine.uottawa.ca FMRSP: Is it Research or Scholarly?
