Projects Oil & Gas is ArcelorMittal’s dedicated and specialized global organization for the supply of complete and customized structural steel solutions for the highly demanding international Oil & Gas sector.

Projects Oil & Gas offers a complete package of structural steel products from our own ArcelorMittal mills and an international network of 3rd party suppliers, combined with specialty stocks strategically located near the major Oil & Gas hubs.

Along with our products, we offer project management services that ultimately support our customers to turn highly critical projects into success stories.

Projects Oil & Gas has a strong track record and well-established experience in the complete package supply of structural steel to all major players in the Oil & Gas industry. Our products

Steel used in offshore structures need to satisfy the highest standard and extreme conditions to ensure greater safety from failure. With our extensive product portfolio, we can supply steel products for upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas applications. We offer high strength offshore steel grades according to international norms and safety standards; meeting specific project specifications with supplementary conditions and additional testing. With our global team of over 1,300 researchers, we are able to offer services of co-engineering for new applications and solutions.

Heavy plates

Plates can be supplied in line with the specifications detailed above. Sizes can be standard or tailored to project requirements with minimum order quantities as low as 2 metric tonnes per size.

Thickness range: 8mm to 200mmYield strength range: 355 – 490 N/mm2 or higher.

Beams & sections

Our structural beams and sections are produced in the highest quality such as our Histar® grade. The size range includes the following:• American (W size)• British (UB/UC size)• European (IPE/HE/UPN)

Beam height: 100mm – 1100mmBeam breadth: 100mm – 420mm

Bulb flats

Bulb Flats are being used as plate stiffeners especially in the shipbuilding industry. Our supplied width ranges from 60mm to 430mm. Our bulb flats are approved by various shipbuilding classifications including ABS, LR, GL, DNV, BV, Russian, Korean and Japanese Registers.

LSAW & seamless tubulars

Rolled tubulars are formed from plate by either press bending, roll bending, UOE or JCO method.

The fabrication process is governed by stringent international standards according to API 2B, API 5L and EEMUA 158.

Rolled tubulars are joined by the Submerged Arc Welding process according to AWS D1.1 in the longitudinal direction, achieving high quality welds and deemed best for Oil & Gas applications.

Seamless tubulars in EN10225 and API 5L are combined with our wide range of welded tubulars, completing our clients’ requirements. ArcelorMittal operates pipe and tube making facilities on four continents, enhancing delivery requirements from various parts of the world. • outer diameter range from 4” to 28”• seamless wall thickness range from

6.02mm up to 120mm

Linepipes

We provide a comprehensive offer for plates and/or coils for both onshore pipelines as deepwater pipelines in the API 5L or EN 10208 applicable standard or specification, which are suitable for the manufacturing of ERW, Spiral SAW and UOE pipes.

Special requirements such as HIC resistance or a high ductility at low temperature can be met to meet the stringent specifications applicable.

Krybar®

Krybar® is a specially designed reinforced steel bar for the construction of cryogenic LNG tanks. It has proven track records complying to EN14620 & BS7777. Available diameters : 12, 16, 20, 25, 28 & 32mm.

Wires

Designed to suit engineering and oil companies requirements and used for floating production systems (FPSO, FPU, DWB, SPM, etc) at various water depths, up to 1,500 meters.

High strength and very good torque balance, for periods up to 35 years in sea water, on static conditions.

Supply sources

Supply from our own ArcelorMittal steel mills, in strong combination with an international network of steel producers and our own stockyards, ensures the most complete and cost efficient supply offer.

ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon

Being active on 4 continents with 18 producing steel mills, our Flat Carbon Europe & Americas facilities are leading producers in slabs, plates and coil materials.

Our mills in Gijon (Spain), Burns Harbour & Coatesville (USA), Industeel (France/Belgium) and Galati (Romania) are our key suppliers for API / EN Heavy Offshore & Shipbuilding Grade Plates.

Facilities in France & Bremen (Germany) offer a comprehensive range of API Hot-Rolled Coils up to X80 PSL 2, including a thickness up to 25.4mm and a width up to 2,080mm.

ArcelorMittal Europe - Flat Carbon supplies plate widths up to 4.9mtr. Supplied plate thicknesses are up to 350mm from Burns Harbour (USA), 760mm from Coatesville (USA) and up to 950mm from Industeel (France/Belgium). The combined annual production of ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon is 53.7 million metric tonnes.

ArcelorMittal Europe - Long Carbon

ArcelorMittal Europe - Long Carbon has been producing a full spectrum of Long products, ranging from wire rods, Krybars®, rebars, special rails, beams and sections. The division is located in 10 European countries with 20 production sites and has an annual capacity of 14 million metric tonnes; the true market leader with innovative and high value products for both the Construction and Oil & Gas industry.

Our beams & sections qualities for offshore structural applications are supplied in S355 / S460 grades of EN10225 and EN10025. Advances in the TM & QST rolling process are the cornerstones of a new generation of fine grained steel grades such as HISTAR® and FRITENAR®, with superior characteristics:

• high strength• good toughness• excellent weldability

This innovation and its complete range of long products have made ArcelorMittal Long Carbon Europe among the most recognized & reliable mills in the offshore structural steel market.

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products

The Tubular Products division has a global presence with 21 production facilities and an annual manufacturing capacity of 3 million metric tonnes. The division produces a broad assortment of tubular products to meet the highest industry standards. Our product range covers almost the entire requirement of the energy industry, e.g. ERW pipes, seamless pipes, large diameter spiral and longitudinally welded line pipes and OCTG.

Our facilities located in Vereeniging (South Africa), Ostrava (Czech Republic), Roman (Romania), Galati (Romania) and Jubail (Saudi Arabia) offer pipes with an outside diameter of 33.4mm to 1,422mm, and thickness of 3.38mm to 50mm. Grades supplied are in accordance to API 5L, Grades X52 to X65.

ArcelorMittal joint venture - China

Hunan Valin SteelHunan Valin Steel is a joint venture operation with Valin Group and ArcelorMittal China. Valin Group is a large sized enterprise set up by three steelmakers in Hunan province, with Xiangtan Iron & Steel and Hengyang Steel Tube capable of producing structural heavy plates and seamless tubulars respectively. Over the years, ArcelorMittal has provided technical advice and support to both mills, leading to the approval of major National Oil Companies.

Xiangtan has a yearly production of 5 million metric tonnes for plates. It manufactures Q&T, Normalized & TMCP plates with lengths from 6m to 20m, widths 1.5m to 4.8m and thicknesses from 6mm to 120mm.

Hengyang, with a production of 1.5 million tonnes yearly, offers API 5L (grade X42 to X100) seamless tubulars with sizes from 0.84” to 28”. It covers wall thickness from 2.8mm to 120mm.

Our extensive and well established network and support of third party mills, enable us to offer you the best and most complete package offer available in the market.
