1 PROJECT OVERVIEW
Creating health care videos for the MSU community that originate from MSU Human Resources (HR) aligns with MSU’s desire to function as a high-performing organization. These videos are focused on health and risk communication, specifically health-related research and health care. They are designed to inform, educate and provide faculty and staff at MSU additional support in their endeavors to maintain their well-being.
2 PROJECT GOALS
The goals of this project are to: Provide instructional materials that demonstrate complex concepts in visual formats. Reduce the amount of time staff are involved in customer issues. Make health content available in different languages. If the videos can be dubbed in different
languages it will add an additional benefit for international faculty and staff. Clarify the health insurance process for international students. These videos will help
international students grasp why and how they sign up for health insurance. Develop instructional content that be shared with health organizations and other universities
as open educational resources (OERs). Create a forum for university-wide collaboration on health and wellness information.
2.1 Goals and Objectives
Primary Goals ObjectivesProvide instructional materials that demonstrate complex concepts in visual format.
To provide alternative methods of consuming instructional content.
Reduce the amount of time staff are involved in customer issues.
To create a database of open information that is readily accessible for employees to use in their benefits-related communication with faculty and staff.
Develop instructional content that be shared with health organizations and other universities as open educational resources (OERs).
General information not specific to MSU, i.e., thinking about saving for healthcare in retirement, can be made available to other universities and health organizations as “Open Educational Resources (OERS), reusable with the proper attribution.
Secondary Goals ObjectivesClarify the health insurance process for international students.
The series of videos can also provide material for a health and wellness channel (on YouTube), that can be collaborated on in the future by multiple departments across campus, such as Health4U, the University Physician’s Office and others.
Make health content available in different languages. If the videos can be dubbed in different languages it will add an additional benefit for international faculty and staff. These videos will also benefit international students by helping them grasp why and how they sign up for health insurance.
To eliminate the language gap that can inhibit international staff, faculty and students from taking advantage of health-related services and benefits because of a lack of understanding.
Create a forum for university-wide collaboration on health and wellness information.
Begin work on this project that is ever-changing and evolving and invite other university units, such as the University Physician’s Office, etc., to be a part of creating information that can benefit the MSU community.
2.2 Project Deliverables
Milestone Deliverable Date Estimate
1. Create an initial calendar of videos to be created.
· An online calendar of filming dates that are used to pick filming locations, coordinate the filming of any necessary participants, and create deadlines for final video editing and uploading.· A video description sheet that describes each project in detail, and also includes information about other multimedia components that may or may not accompany each video.
