Ozone Layer

It protects the Earth from ultraviolet radiationSprays and chemicals destroy the ozone layerFactories produce carbon dioxideThese have formed a blanket around

the EarthThese blanket traps the heat of the sun.

The Earth is getting warmer.

Acid RainAcid rain is caused by cars and lorries,

factories and electric power plants that use fossil fuels.

When fossil fuels are burned they release gases called sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere.

This gases mix with water to form clouds of dangerous acids.

It is highly acidic and causes a great deal of damage to our planet.

Greenhouse EffectIt works like this : sunlight gives us heat.

Some of the heat warms the atmosphere, and some of the heat goes back into space.

Nowadays the air surrounding the earth has become much warmer because the heat can’t go back into space. That’s why winter and summer temperatures in many places have become higher.

DeforestationEvery year over 100000 sq. km of forests are so badly

damaged that they will hardly be able to recover.Paper and cardboard, both made from wood.If we go on like this, by the time you are as old as your grandparents are now all the forests on earth can be destroyed. This includes rainforests in South America, Africa and Asia. The huge forests help to control the world’s weather and to produce much oxygen in the air.

Endangered Species

People’s activities destroy animals and birds’habitats.Because of noise in big cities and airports they can’t breed their youth. We pollute seas, forests and other places where animals and birds live.Because of using pesticides we poisonous food animals and birds eat.People hunt animals and birds for fur, teeth skins and just for pleasure.

Endangered Species

Nearly 25000 species of plants, more than 1000 species of wild animals have disappeared.

Why? A man kill animals and birds for pleasure and money.

THE EARTH IN OUR HANDS

Hundreds of thousands of roots and shoots, hundreds of thousands of young people around the world, can break through walls. We CAN change the world.
