THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPORT TO THE ARCHITECT ANY ERROR, INCONSISTENCY OR OMISSION HE MAY DISCOVER. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING ANY ERROR AFTER THE START OF CONSTRUCTION WHICH HAS NOT BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT. THE MEANS OF CORRECTING ANY ERROR SHALL FIRST BE APPROVED BY THE ARCHITECT. 34. THE ARCHITECT SHALL REVIEW SHOP DRAWINGS AND SAMPLES FOR SUBSTANTIAL CONFORMANCE WITH DESIGN INTENT. THE ARCHITECT'S REVIEW OF A SEPARATE ITEM SHALL NOT INDICATE REVIEW OF AN ASSEMBLY IN WHICH THE ITEM FUNCTIONS. 35. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO LOCATE ALL EXISTING UTILITIES, WHETHER SHOWN HEREON OR NOT, AND TO PROTECT THEM FROM DAMAGE DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTITIVITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEAR ALL EXPENSE OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF UTILITIES OR OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGED BY OPERATIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE EXECUTION OF THE WORK. 36. EXISTING ELEVATIONS AND LOCATIONS TO BE JOINED SHALL BE VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR BEFORE CONSTRUCTION. SHOULD THEY DIFFER FROM THOSE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT SO THAT MODIFICATIONS CAN BE MADE BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK. 37. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL TEMPORARY UTILITIES, STRUCTURES, AND FACILITIES, AS REQUIRED. 38. APPROVED PLANS SHALL BE KEPT IN A PLAN BOX AND SHALL NOT BE USED BY WORKMEN. ALL CONSTRUCTION SETS SHALL REFLECT THE SAME INFORMATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO MAINTAIN IN GOOD CONDITION ONE COMPLETE SET OF DRAWINGS WITH ALL REVISIONS, ADDENDA AND CHANGE ORDERS ON THE PREMISES AT ALL TIMES. THESE ARE TO BE UNDER THE CARE OF THE JOB SUPERINTENDENT. 39. GENERAL NOTES

1. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE DRAWINGS BETWEEN SUB-CONTRACTORS (I.E.MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, STRUCTURAL) FOR CONFLICT AND NOTIFY THE ARCHITECTPRIOR TO BID OF ANY DISCREPANCIES AND/OR CONFLICTS BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE BID.CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS ATTHE JOB AND SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT AND THE OWNER OF ANY DISCREPANCIES,OMISSIONS, AND/OR CONFLICT BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE JOB. 6. ALL FLOORS SHALL BE LEVELED AND FREE OF IRREGULARITIES TO ASSURE ONE CONSTANTFLOOR HEIGHT, SO THAT DOOR BUCKS WHEN SET ARE AT CONSISTENT DIMENSIONS FROM THECEILING WITH NO GAPS BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR BUCK AT THE SLAB AFTERCARPETING AND OTHER FLOOR FINISHES ARE INSTALLED.

7. ANY SITE DEMOLITION SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION.

8. ALL CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LAYING OUT EQUIPMENT RUNS TO AVOIDINTERFERENCE.

9. IF CEILING DIFFUSERS, LIGHT FIXTURES OR OTHER ELEMENTS ON OR ABOVE THE CEILINGCANNOT BE LOCATED AS SHOWN ON PLAN DUE TO OBSTRUCTIONS, GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALLNOTIFY ARCHITECT / OWNER PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK.

10. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO ALL APPLICABLE CODES, I.E. FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCALBUILDING CODES. CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW FOR CODE COMPLIANCE DURING THE BIDDINGPROCESS. 11. DOORS AND FRAMES WHICH REQUIRE A FIRE RESISTANT RATING SHALL BE A TYPE APPROVEDBY THE NATIONAL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS. SEE DOOR SCHEDULE FOR RATINGS.

12. AFTER THE JOB IS IN PROGRESS, "CHANGE ORDERS" MUST BE APPROVED BY THE OWNER ANDARCHITECT IN WRITING PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK. WORK PERFORMED WITHOUT PRIORWRITTEN NOTICE MAY NOT BE COMPENSATED.

13. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THAT ALL EXIT AND DIRECTIONALSIGNS AND LIGHTS COMPLY WITH STATE AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES PRIOR TO THEIRINSTALLATION.

14. INTERIOR ROOMS SHALL BE MECHANICALLY VENTILATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE ANDLOCAL BUILDING CODES.

15. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BRACING OF PARTITION WALLS AS REQUIRED ANDAT ALL DOOR OPENINGS.

16. DRYWALL CONTROL JOINTS SHALL BE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH RECOMMENDEDPRACTICES OF THE UNITED STATES GYPSUM ASSOCIATION.

17. ALL MISCELLANEOUS WOOD BLOCKING, SILLS, PLYWOOD, ETC., TO BE FIRE RETARDED.

18. ALL MATERIALS ARE TO BE STORED PROPERLY. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FORTHE SAFEKEEPING OF MATERIALS INCLUDING THOSE SUPPLIED BY THE OWNER.

19. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION OF SPECIAL SHIPPINGITEMS JOINTLY WITH THE OWNER FOR OWNER'S SUPPLIED ITEMS. THE GENERAL CONTRACTORSHALL PROVIDE THE OWNER AND ARCHITECT WITH A REASONABLE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE TOARRANGE SHIPPING.

20. THE CONTRACTOR WILL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, AND PLUMBINGPERMIT. THE CONTRACTOR WILL FILE FOR THE CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY AND THECONTRACTOR WILL COORDINATE ALL THE NECESSARY INSPECTIONS AND APPROVALS THROUGHFINAL COMPLETION.

21. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR MAY SUBSTITUTE MATERIALS, FINISHES, AND/OR EQUIPMENTUPON WRITTEN SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL ACCORDING TO THE PROJECT MANUAL.

22. NO SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS UNLESSAPPROVED BY THE OWNER / ARCHITECT AND ACCORDING TO THE PROJECT MANUAL.

23. DIMENSIONS NOTED "CLEAR" ARE NOT ADJUSTABLE WITHOUT APPROVAL BY THE ARCHITECT.

24. ISOLATE DISSIMILAR METALS IN CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER.

25. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, FIRE DAMPERS, SMOKEDETECTORS, EMERGENCY LIGHTING, AND SPRINKLER HEADS AS REQUIRED BY THE FIRE MARSHALLAND LOCAL CODES.

26. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ALLCONSTRUCTION DEBRIS AND REFUSE.

27. UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK, THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE A PUNCH LISTFIRST AND NOTIFY ARCHITECT TO REVIEW AND VERIFY PUNCH-LIST FOR CORRECTIONS.

28. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR AND RESTORE EXISTING SITE CONDITIONSDAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION.

29. ALL DOOR JAMBS TO BE INSTALLED PLUMB AND SQUARE.

30. THE SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS ARE COMPLEMENTARY AND SHALL BE EQUAL INAUTHORITY AND PRIORITY. IF DUPLICATIONS OR CONFLICTS ARE DISCOVERED EITHER INTHEMSELVES, OR WITH EACH OTHER, PRICES SHALL BE BASED ON THE MOST EXPENSIVECOMBINATION OF QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF WORK INDICATED WITH NO CREDIT FOR ALL COSTSSAVED ACCRUING TO OWNER IF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND ANY DUPLICATIONS SPECIFIEDSHALL NOT BECOME A BASIS FOR EXTRA COST TO THE OWNER. THE APPROPRIATE METHOD OFPERFORMING THE WORK, IN THE EVENT OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED DISAGREEMENTS, SHALL BERECOMMENDED BY ARCHITECTS, REVIEWED BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE AND APPROVED BY THEOWNER.

31. UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, OWNER SHALL SECURE ANDPAY FOR THE BUILDING PERMIT. CONTRACT SHALL SECURE AND PAY FOR ALL OTHER PERMITSAND GOVERNMENTAL FEES, LICENSES, AND INSPECTIONS NECESSARY FOR PROPER EXECUTIONAND COMPLETION OF THE WORK WHICH ARE CUSTOMARILY SECURED AFTER EXECUTION OF THECONTRACT AND WHICH ARE LEGALLY REQUIRED AT THE TIME THE BIDS ARE RECEIVED, INCLUDINGBUT NOT LIMITED TO THE DEMOLITION PERMIT. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROCURE ALL CERTIFICATESOF INSPECTION, USE, OCCUPANCY (EXCLUDING TENANT OCCUPANCY PERMITS), PERMITS ANDLICENSES, PAY ALL CHARGES AND FEES AND GIVE ALL NOTICES NECESSARY AND INCIDENTAL TOTHE DUE AND LAWFUL PROSECUTION OF THE WORK. IT IS AGREED THAT THE CONTRACTOR ISREQUIRED TO DELIVER ALL SUCH CERTIFICATES TO THE OWNER OR ARCHITECT BEFORE THEPROJECT WILL BE DEEMED TO BE SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE. CERTIFICATES OF INSPECTION, USEAND OCCUPANCY SHALL BE DELIVERED TO THE OWNER UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK INSUFFICIENT TIME FOR OCCUPATION OF THE PROJECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVEDSCHEDULE FOR THE WORK.

32. PROVIDE CRACK ISOLATION SHEET BENEATH FLOOR TILE @ ALL CRACKS AND CONTROLJOINTS IN CONCRETE SLAB. SHEET TO EXTEND A MINIMUM OF ONE FULL TILE BEYOND CRACK ONEACH SIDE.

33. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPORT TO THE ARCHITECT ANY ERROR, INCONSISTENCYOR OMISSION HE MAY DISCOVER. 39. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLETE SECURITY OF THESITE, WHILE CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS AND UNTIL JOB IS COMPLETE.
