ADVENTURE: FUNDRAISING MINIMUM:

Your fundraising minimum is DUE 7 days prior to the start of your adventure. You will be notified within TWO weeks of the start of your adventure with your current balance and any remaining balances due. Please communicate with your Goddess of Outreach, Cindy

SELF FUNDING:If you are planning to self-fund your adventure, please let your Goddess of Outreach, Cindy Dungey, know immediately upon filling out your paperwork. You can either plan to self-fund in FULL upon registration or 7 days prior to the start of your adventure.

credit card transactions and we, the foundation, do not have any control over them.

page upon registration. This fundraising page will give your donors an easy-to-access platform to make donations to your cause. Please refer to the Welcome Letter you

First Giving Fundraising PlatformThere are TWO easy ways to share your fundraising page…

First Giving makes it easy to share your fundraising page with friends and family. You’ll find a variety of social share links

available on your page including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You can also send an

email using their pre-made templates or customize your own. It’s easy to use and will help you reach donors across all platforms. 

DIRECT LINK: THROUGH THE PAF WEBSITE:

Once you create your fundraising account and provide your Goddess of Outreach,

Cindy Dungey, with your preferred picture, your fundraising profile will be available through the PAF website. You can access

your profile by going to Fundraisers, God/Goddess Bio’s, and then selecting your

chosen adventure.

First Giving Fundraising Fee

What is the 7.5% Donation Fee?

The 7.5% donation fee is made of a 5% Performance Fee and a credit card processing fee of 2.5%. The 5% Performance Fee allows FrontStream/FirstGiving to securely host the Project Athena fundraising pages, process donations, distribute funds raised, and provide customer support to all their clients (which includes you and your donors!).

How can a donor DECLINE to cover the fee?

At the end of each donation form, there is a check box that estimates the percentage of the donation fee and asks the donor if they’d like to pay that fee. If you, or your donors, would like to DECLINE the fee, please leave this box unchecked. If a donor declines the fee, Project Athena will cover the costs.

NEW FEATURE - Offline DonationsYou can now log your own offline check donations!

To help making check tracking easier for all involved, First Giving now allows participants to log their own “offline” donations. Offline donations include both cash or check donations that you’ve received. Please note that you will still need to send ALL CHECKS (no cash) to Project Athena to be processed. Offline donations will appear in your fundraising account as pending until the checks have been received and confirmed by Project Athena. Once a check is confirmed, a notification of confirmation and a receipt will be emailed to both the fundraiser and donor.

HOW TO LOG AN OFFLINE DONATION:

• Sign into your account

• Select the fundraising page that you wish to enter these offline donations under

• Select the “add offline donation” option on the right-hand side

• Fill out the pop-up box asking for information about your donor

• Click Save

• Mail all checks to Project Athena at 2033 San Elijo Ave #310 Cardiff, CA 92007

Check DonationsPlease make sure that

1. All checks are payable to the Project Athena Foundation (no abbreviations)

2. All checks are sent to the Project Athena official address: Project Athena Foundation2033 San Elijo Ave #310Cardiff, CA 92007

3. All checks have the fundraiser’s name attached

CHECK PROCESS:

• Log all check donations in your First Giving account (see Offline Donations)

• Email your Goddess of Outreach that you are sending a batch of checks

• Mail checks to the above Project Athena address

- The Project Athena mail is collected on a bi-weekly basis

• Once received, donations will be confirmed in First Giving

- Notification of confirmation and donation receipts will be sent via email to the addresses provided

Corporate Donation Matches• It never hurts to ask your company (or a spouse/partner/family/friend’s company) if they

are willing to make a donation match.

• Remember: if a company matches your donations you will only need to raise HALF of the required minimum.

• All donations are tax-deductible and a tax-deductible receipt will be provided.

• All checks must be made payable to the Project Athena Foundation.

• Please ask your company to include the fundraiser’s name in the memo or notes section of the donation.

• Most donation matches take anywhere from 60-90 days to be processed. Please let your Goddess of Outreach, Cindy Dungey, know when your donation match has been accepted and what corporate portal is being used (i.e. Benevity, Donate Well, Network for Good) so we can track your donation.

Cash Donations• PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH!

• All cash donations should be collected and sent as a personal check or applied to your fundraising account via credit card.

• We understand that cash donations are inevitable, so please utilize our new offline donation feature to track all cash donations.

• When collecting cash donations, it is important to collect the following information so that we can properly provide every donor with their tax-deductible receipt: - Name of donor

- Email address or physical address for donor

- Donation amount

• All donor information will be used for the sole purpose of providing them with a tax deductible receipt. They will NOT be receiving any other information from us, nor will their information be shared.

Facebook DonationsFacebook has officially joined the world of fundraising but it’s not as easy as you think! Facebook donate buttons do NOT link to your individual fundraising page, but instead create one monthly donation, from all Facebook campaigns, to the foundation. The individual donations also show as anonymous, which makes it extremely difficult to properly distribute those donations to individual fundraisers. Because of this, we’d like to ask that you please refrain from using the Facebook donation portal and instead, share your First Giving page to Facebook through the social share buttons in your First Giving account.

Of course, we greatly appreciate ALL donations and understand that this may be an easier way to fundraise for YOU. If you do decide to use the Facebook donation portal, please do the following:

1. Once your Facebook campaign is over, screenshot a picture of ALL donations you have received showing donor name, donation date, and donation amount.

2. Email the screenshot to your Goddess of Outreach, so that we have a record of your donations and can properly reconcile the them once we have confirmation from Facebook.
