Vice President Salil Bali
In our regular meeting on November 04, 2016 we had PP Rtn. Pallav Mukherjee
as the Quiz Master, who needs no introduction. In the absence of President Rtn.
Amarjit Singh who has gone with family to attend his relative’s marriage in
Philippines, Vice President Rtn. Salil Bali presided over the meeting, and
extended his greetings to all present. Salil handed over the proceedings to Pallav
for the ‘Queej’…! Pallav insisted to mis-spell ‘Quiz’ in babu accent which was
quite amusing for the editor, the Rotarians and R’anns.

Officiating President
The first question was who is responsible for Pallav’s 10
year old photograph displayed on the powerpoint program
of the meeting. Obviously it was the editor and he bagged
the first chocolate being distributed by Pallav, but with a
condition that his next photo should be Salman Khan
type. Next question was the Bollywood actresses from
Chandigarh. The chocolates were flying all over the hall.
Being health conscious nobody was seen eating the
chocolates but taking these home for their kids. All of a
sudden there was a loud applause as R’ann Dipali Adokar
had taken a brilliant catch of a chocolate, the best catch of
the ‘tournament’…!
Pallav did not spare the Past Presidents, and asked them to
promote Rotary in 30 seconds! They responded well and
others too joined in to give some useful suggestions.
There were more questions on various topics. As Pallav
says, “The idea is to have fun.” And there was plenty of it.
PP Dr. V.J.S. Vohra thanked VP Salil Bali for giving him
the opportunity to propose formal vote of thanks. He
thanked PP Pallav Mukherjee for making the meeting
vibrant - full of humour, entertainment and fun.

Rtn. Nitin Kapur
As this week is Interact week, Vice President Salil Bali invited PE

She said World Interact Week is celebrated every year during the
week of 5 November to commemorate the founding of the first
Interact Club in 1962, by the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Florida,
USA. Two months later, the first Interact club outside the United
States was established in Tanjore, India.
Interact is a club for young people between ages of 12 and 18 who
join an international platform to tackle the issues in their
community, develop leadership skills and have fun! Through
Interact, the youngsters carry out service projects, make global
connections, promote international understanding and peace.
Dr. Rita said, “With more than 33,000 clubs in more than 200
countries, and having 340,000 young people as members, Interact
has grown significantly is truly a worldwide phenomenon.”
Interact week is an excellent opportunity for clubs to publicize,
promote, and inform the community about the great work
accomplished by Interact Clubs.
