PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Four 12-month pharmacy practice residency positions will be offered. Residents will be actively involved in patient care, education, and research. Residents are required to complete 12 rotations and present one major project. Residents may choose from the listed rotations or may pursue alternative rotations if interested in an area outside those listed. Residents will staff an average of 4 days per month. This program will prepare pharmacist clinicians for any of the following:

• Patient care clinical pharmacist and/or leadership role in a healthcare delivery system,

• Adjunct faculty position, or

• PGY2 training in the area of choice. Pharmacists completing this residency program will be competent practitioners of pharmaceutical care. Residents will engage in patient care, project management and practice management and will develop substantial leadership and problem-solving skills. Residents will work as an integrated member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Upon completion of this residency, participants will be able to apply their knowledge to all types of projects and patient care situations and will be able to educate patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals on appropriate medication therapy. During this program it is expected that the resident will grow professionally and will exhibit a personal philosophy of professional growth and commitment to the profession.
