ABSTRACTThe following wording describes the text formatting stiles used in the Materia journal’s Template File (Template_File.dot) to be used with MSWord version 6.0 or newer ones. This text begins with a general description of the article’s layout and follows on describing each style separately. The title area must include the title itself, the authors’ names, as well as their postal and electronic addresses. When different authors possess different affiliations, superscripted numbers positioned after their names should correspond to the numbers preceding the addresses. An abstract containing between 200 to 300 words should be presented. This abstract is intended to give an overall idea of the article, disclosing the objectives, methodological features, important results and the main conclusions reached. It is followed by a list of keywords that should well represent the main topics covered by the article.A typical article contains different sections such as: introduction, experimental procedures, results, discussion, acknowledgements, bibliography and, eventually, annexes. The introduction should present the article and its objectives and, eventually, include a bibliographic review, which may also be introduced as a separate section. The experimental procedures should not be extensive, but enough to let the reader know which materials, test procedures and/or theoretical modeling was used to plan an to analyze the results. If too many figures and graphics are to be shown in the article, some may be presented in annexes. The discussion is a very important section of the article, because it may aggregate scientific content to the work by modeling the results obtained and by analyzing them with support of the literature. The conclusions should be concise and able to precisely present the main contributions achieved with the work developed. Keywords: A maximum of 05 (five) keywords.

INTRODUCTIONThe introduction should present the paper theme, justifying the aim based on literature. It should also present the paper objectives.

Preferably, use as a general framework the following sequence:Introduction;Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion; Conclusion;Acknowledgments;References;Appendix.

Attention: to hide comments: in the toolbar “review”, clear the item “comments” in “show markup”.
ga, 21/05/13,
When ABSTRACT finish in about two thirds of the page, the next topic –INTRODUCTION – should follow, soon after, on the same page.In this case use the style “00. title introduction” If the abstract finishes too close to the end of the page , start the introduction on the next page. In this case, use the style “00. title”.
mg a, 15/05/13,
The style utilized for the text of the ABSTRACT is “02. abstract text”.
mg a, 05/15/13,
The style utilized for the title of the ABSTRACT is “02. abstract title”.
mg a, 05/15/13,
Attention: only the first letter of the title’s first word must be capitalized and the following words must be lowercase, except for names. ACRONYMS must be capital letters. The title style used “01. paper title”.

This section should describe all the materials, procedures and methods used at the experimental or theoretical part of the work.

One or more appendixes can be used to describe the details of the experimental arrangement, manufacturing or mathematical developments used along the work.

Some papers may include a bibliographic review between the introduction and materials and methods.

2.1 FormattingAll body text should be written in one column, with Times New Roman typeface with a font size of 10pt. The titles should be typed with capital letter and the subtitles in capital letter and lowercase, with Arial bold typeface with size of 9pt. In these cases the space between lines should always be of 12pt.

The gaps between titles or subtitles and the beginning of the text, tabs and spaces between paragraphs are configured in this document.

The preferred model for table presentation is exemplified in Table 1, whose configuration consists of its specific styles, according to the comments on the side.

.

Table 1: Page dimensions for all text..

NAME DIMENSION UNIT

A4 paper 210 x 297 millimeter (mm)

Top margin 2.5 centimeters (cm)

Bottom margin 2.5 centimeters (cm)

Left margin 3.0 centimeters (cm)

Right margin 2.5 centimeters (cm)

Header 1.25 centimeters (cm)

Footer 1.25 centimeters (cm)

RESULTSThis section must present all the obtained results with the necessary information to securely verify the measured values and their correspondent significance. Although the results may be presented with the discussion of their meaning, it is suggested that a thorough discussion, based on information from literature, may be presented in a section apart.

Make sure that the presentation of all the experimental results be accompanied by a statistical analysis, including standard deviation of measures and error bars in the graphs.

One or more appendixes can be included to show details of the analyzed results that may overload the section.

3.1 MSWord formatting stylesAll styles configured in this document for formatting the papers published in the journal Matéria are shown in Table 2, with the basic characteristic of each one.

3.2 FiguresThe Figures are presented in the journal Matéria with the title in bold and the caption must be located after the figure, as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1: Magazine logo.

To ensure good readability, the figures that might be created must be saved in .jpg format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and minimum size of 1024 pixels at the longest side. The original figures should be sent as appendixes to enable any necessary adjustments.

The figure should be located and dimensioned in the paper.

DISCUSSIONThis is the appropriate section of the paper for adding scientific content, through the analysis of the presented results supported by literature and through modeling and simulation of specific behaviors and conditions.

4.1 EquationThis style is used to align the MS Equation object and its respective number. This style is based on the “text” style, except for that it presents different tabs: the first for the MS Equation object, set to the left margin, and the second for numbering the equation, adjusted to the right margin. The tab is performed by an unfilled table with no border. It should be typed with simple spacing between lines and with spaces before and after of 12pt. It is possible to insert space between paragraphs of the same style. Each subsequent paragraph will follow the same style.

ga, 21/05/13,
In the caption of the figure, it is applied the style "04. figure caption" with its title in bold, as explained in the reference text.
ga, 21/05/13,
All figures should be aligned with the text, applying the style “04.figure” .
Page 4: Produção de revestimento cerâmico - SciELO€¦ · Web viewThe tab is performed by an unfilled table with no border. It should be typed with simple spacing between lines and with

SURNAME, A1. N.; SURNAME , A2.N.; SURNAME, A3.N., et al . revista Matéria, v. 00, n.0, 2019.

Every equation should be inserted as left aligned figure with 10mm indentation. The equation numbering should be aligned on the right in the same line of the equation, as shown in the example below.

(1)

To enter two equations, it is possible to copy and paste the previous line in the following one, the style is automatically applied. All equations should be numbered sequentially.

CONCLUSIONSThe conclusions should be concise and represent the most important aspects found during the reported work development. They should seek to point out the scientific and/or technological and/or theoretical progress effectively achieved.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTSIn this section, the credits to all received supports may be given.

BIBLIOGRAPHYThe journal Matéria uses numbered references: the quotations must be indicated in the text by the author(s) surname(s), with capital letters, followed by the reference number in brackets when the surname is part of the sentence. If the surname is not part of the sentence, only the number should be inserted between brackets. Examples:

For papers with a single author: “... IESAN [2] has shown that...” or “... it has been shown [2] that...”For papers with two authors: “...IESAN and ABRAHAM [1] have found out that...” or “... it has been found out that [1]...”For papers with more than two authors: ABRAHAM, et al. [1] have calculated ...” or “... it has been calculated [1]...”For topics related to more than one paper: “... the heat radiation problem has been treated [8, 9] according to...”

The list of references at the end of the paper should provide accurate information to ease any query. Such information should be separated by commas and not by dot or semicolon. For quotations in the body text, the expression et al. (italic) is used for all papers that have more than three authors.

ATTENTION!!!Hyperlinks are marked by the journal and not by the author. Please only leave the numbering [1] [2]

indicated in the text.

Several information must be given according to the type of publication, as discussed below. Besides the author(s) name(s) that must be spelled as shown in the examples at the end of each subsection, the information that must be included in the references section are:
