Pneumatic Screwdriver -- NOW with modified torque speed specific for picture frames

Now with a specially modified torque speed specifically for working

with picture frames.

The AMS Pneumatic Screwdriver with push-to-start system has a switch to quickly toggle from forward to reverse. This screwdriver’s torque is fully adjustable.

AMS is committed to developing new products to automate and simplify frame assembly. AMS is the ONLY manufacturer worldwide to provide corner angles and wire hangers with slotted set screws pre-started at a fixed depth. This means that no backing up of screws is required when installing angles and hangers. Additionally, the hassle of missing screws is eliminated.

The AMS customized bit and sleeve (AMS #11-SLEEVE) engages slotted set screws in both corner angles and wall hangers. After inserting angles and hangers, simply press the #11-Sleeve to the screws that need to be tightened. The #11-Sleeve quickly and easily locates the screw slot while the pressing motion automatically turns the clutch. The screwdriver automatically stops when the screw is completely installed to the preset torque (or depth).

By combining the Pneumatic Screwdriver with an AMS Balancer, framers can create effective and efficient workstations to assemble frames and attach fasteners with screws. AMS Screw PresenterThe new AMS Screw Presenter delivers pan head screws to add automation and speed to the frame assembly process. This machine lines up screws one after the other to make them available for usage. Pick up each screw from the feeder with a magnetized screwdriver bit; then simply push screw into wood frame to attach hangers or other hardware. There is no need to adjust the screws with finger-tips, hence screws are efficiently picked up and inserted in one smooth movement.

This system is modular: the feeder rails can be adjusted in less than five minutes to accept screws ranging in size from #0 to #10.

The AMS Ratchet Screwdriver with attached AMS #11-Sleeve is an inexpensive tool that improves #11 Aluminum Frame assembly productivity. Use with AMS #11 angles and hangers that have been prestarted with headless slotted screws.Place sleeve over screw and push down. The screwdriver rotates from just a push and not a twist, saving time and energy. There is a forward/reverse switch for backing up screws when required.

The AMS #CMD-B3 Crimping Machine joins Plastic and Aluminum Backloaded Mouldings. The work station is free-standing with the joining mechanism built into a 61cm x 91cm (24” x 36”) wood composite work surface mounted on a sturdy steel frame. Boards with pre-installed eyelets can be easily stacked, and clips can be affixed to stored boards as required. Operator can easily select the distance of eyelets from the board edge.

This machine is pneumatic (air-driven) to offer automatic activation with board contact and automatic feeding of eyelets -- this enables easy movement from installed eyelet to next eyelet installation position.

Standard-Fire Flexi Tab ToolThe AMS Standard-Fire Flexi Tab Tool inserts one Flexi-Point or Rigitab per press of trigger into wood mouldings to quickly clip frame load into frame. The nosepiece is designed to allow Flexi-Point insertion almost horizontally. After firing, just slide the tool over to the next point of insertion rather than lifting away from frame for speed and efficiency. Tabs are inserted at an angle, which means they need to be pressed down to complete assembly. This tool is lightweight and can be loaded quickly without change of work position.

AMS Air-Powered Staplers are light weight (0.6 kg) and durable. A special modification developed by AMS ensures that these staplers will not cut canvas or crush boards. Cartridges of staples are reloaded quickly within seconds. Each stapler is offered with or without a front spacer (nose plate) which turns it into a fitting tool. The AMS Standard Stapler is available in three variations for affixing staples of crown widths 3/8” (10mm), 3/16” (4.4mm) or 1/2” (12mm).

These staplers are used to fasten materials that are flush. For example, they can quickly clip corrugated corners as well as attach canvas artwork to frames when stretching by hand.

The AMS #S100 Narrow Crown Stapler is particularly useful for attaching sawtooth hangers and door easel backs onto frames.

Long-Nose Pneumatic Stapler with Balancer Ring Connector

The AMS Long-Nose Stapler has the advantages of other AMS pneumatic staplers, but it has an elongated 2-inch nose and a ring to connect a balancer for precision. This stapler can be used where it is difficult to staple with a normal stapler.

This Stapler’s 10mm (3/8”) wide crown is for use with staples ranging in leg length from 4mm to 16mm (3/32” to 5/8”). Use AMS Staples listed on next page.

Pneumatic Fitting Tools

The AMS Fitting Tool is a stapler with a special nose plate attached to ensure that staples are not driven completely into framing materials, which means the staples are kept extended about 50% above the installed surface. This tool is helpful when inserting staples to hold frameloads into backloaded frames (an inexpensive alternative to a Flexible Tab Tool).

AMS S200 Staplers can be transformed into Fitting Tools with the addition of a special front spacer or nose plate (AMS Code #S201).

The Cassese “XL” and “UNI” Series of Underpinners features the famous Ultra™ Clamping system. These machines allow a very wide joining capacity -- 190mm stroke (7-1/2”) for mouldings up to 150mm wide (6”).

“UNI” Underpinners use Masters UNI Wedges.Although each of these underpinners is equipped with equally superb state-of-the-art technology, each model is tailored to the requirements of different type of framers.
