INSTALLATION GUIDELINES 3
When handling panels, clean work gloves should beworn at all times to protect from sharp edges and toprevent any smudging of the painted finish.
When removing material from shipping units, DO NOTdrag/slide panels across stack underneath. Panelsmust be lifted up, then away to avoid any permanentdamage to the painted surface (FIG. C).
NOTE:
•
•
DETERMINING THE GRID:Before beginning the installation procedure, it is importantto plan the overall layout of the installation. Architecturaldrawings should be consulted to determine the correctgrid, where applicable.
If there are no drawings to work from, measure and verifyall field dimensions and develop a pattern to maximizeappearance and minimize fabrication. Consideration foraesthetics should be made in locating odd sized panels.
PRE-INSTALLATION:SCHEDULING & GRID LAYOUT
Once begun, work should not be delayed for longperiods of time at a point which might cause damageto the product if acted upon by external conditions(i.e. rain, snow, long periods of exposure to the sun).
NOTE:
COORDINATION OF WORK:In accordance with good construction practice, schedulethe work to coordinate with other trades so that installa-tion can proceed without significant interference/delay.
DO NOT use butting panels as a guide for grid layout.Actual panel size will vary slightly from grid size(FIG. D) due to the spacing needed for panel expan-sion (1/16”) and the molding/receiver width.
For example, a 4’ x 10’ o.c. grid pattern will result inan actual panel size of slightly less than a full 4’ x 10’.

CALCULATING MATERIAL USAGE:After identifying/determining the grid, begin to verify thatthe correct amount of material has been ordered for yourspecific application. Since material takeoffs and resultingquantities are based upon the grid layout, installing thematerial in another pattern may result in shortages.
Likewise, an approximate cut plan (for both panels andmoldings) should be determined before beginninginstallation to prevent such shortages which may causedelays in completion of the project.
When calculating molding usage, verticals typically passthrough horizontals (FIG. E), except at head and silllocations (see Typical Details). If the project is largeenough to require several lengths of moldings, splicesshould be staggered so that they do not match up withhorizontal/vertical molding intersections (see GeneralWork: Cutting & Fitting Extrusions).
4 INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
ALIGNING & MARKING THE GRID:Using the grid pattern derived, establish a base point inthe lowermost left corner of the elevation (typically).Using a chalk line, level, and a plumb bob, mark thecomplete grid (FIG. F) on the substrate. Doing so willallow for any necessary adjustment to be made prior toinstallation.
Installation may also be started at the center line of theelevation and worked in both directions from that point.
All surfaces of the substrate should be free from anyobstructions and/or projections which might interfere withpanel application. Note areas where shims may berequired to bring the panel system into a plumb, level, and consistent plane.

GENERAL WORK:LIMITATIONS OF THE PANEL SYSTEM
USES & APPLICATIONS:Envelope 2000® is intended for use as a non-structuralwall panel. It may also be used in other applicationswhere the slope does not exceed 25° (FIG. G) pastvertical.
Also, the system must be kept a minimum of 12” awayfrom the finished landscaping grade. Other environmen-tal and application limitations may apply. Refer to theProduct Warranty.
GENERAL WORK:FABRICATION OF THE PANELS
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:When performing fabricating procedures, it is necessaryto observe all general guidelines for safety. Cutting, drilling, or otherwise machining the panels and trimmoldings may produce flying chips, shavings, or dust.
In addition to work gloves and proper clothing, safetygoggles, ear protection, and possibly dust masks maybe needed when fabricating system components.
NOTE:
CUTTING & DRILLING OF PANELS:Cut-to-size panels are available from the manufacturer. When field cutting is required, it may be performed usingstandard carpentry tools equipped with carbide-tippedblades. Work surfaces should be padded (FIG. H) andfree from any debris which may damage the finish. Forcleaner cuts, backer
blocks and straightedges may be clamped to the panelsurface. Caul blocks should be used when necessary toprotect the painted finish. After cutting, aluminum edgesmay need filing to remove sharp projections and/or metalburrs (FIG. I) that might prevent the panel from slidinginto the molding channel properly. Doing so will alsoreduce the risk of personal injury.
When using a table saw to cut panels, the finished side(protective film) should be placed facing upward. Forhand held circular saws and jigsaws, the finish sideshould be facing down (FIG. J).
For drilling operations, the finished side should be placedfacing upward and a backer block should be used whennecessary to minimize any tearout.

The appearance, quality and soundness of the panelsystem depends in large part upon the quality and fit ofthe trim moldings.
For accurate cutting, a miter or chop saw (with carbidetipped blade) is recommended to cut the moldings tolength. Notching of moldings may also be required forsome intersections. Metal snips and/or a miter saw maybe used to remove portions of the moldings so that theintersection can fit together properly (FIG. K).
GENERAL WORK:CUTTING & FITTING MOLDINGS
Whenever cutting, trimming, or installing moldings, itis important to make sure the joints are well fitted andthe intersections formed provide a clean channel intowhich the panel can be placed.
NOTE:
A visual representation of the most common intersectionscan be found in the Typical Details section of the ProductManual. If you have any questions about how yourparticular intersection should be fitted, contact ourtechnical staff for assistance.
SPLICING OF MOLDINGS:Depending on the grid size, several lengths of moldingsmay be required to complete a horizontal and/or verticalrun. Planning should be done to minimize the number ofsplices required.
When necessary, splices must occur no closer than 2”away from a horizontal/vertical intersection (FIG. L).Splices must be completely sealed against moisture. This does not apply if the molding intersections arebeing mitered.
NOTE:
As a barrier system, Envelope 2000® is an exteriorcladding system designed to keep water away from thestructural wall system. Therefore, it is imperative that thefollowing guidelines be followed accurately to ensure theintegrity of the system against moisture intrusion.
SELECTING THE RIGHT SEALANT:In order for the proper bond to be created between thesealant and the system components, be sure to use onlythe sealant recommended by the manufacturer.
GENERAL WORK:PROPER SEALANT APPLICATION
Failure to adequately seal ALL panel edges, moldingintersections & splices, cutouts, etc., will cause theinstallation to fail and will VOID THE WARRANTY.

The use of other sealants may require additional steps(such as priming of materials) or cause the installation tofail due to poor weatherability, staining and/or lack ofadequate bonding.
SEALANT APPLICATION:In general, sealant should be liberally applied whereverwater may be able to infiltrate the system (e.g. joints, molding splices, dissimilar material abutments, etc.).
For the one piece system, the sealant should fill enoughof the molding channel (FIG. M) so that squeeze out willoccur when the panel is inserted.
FIGURE M.
ONE PIECE - BEFORE ONE PIECE - AFTER
Depending upon the panel size, an adhesive may berequired in the field of the panel. Either double-sidedtape or construction adhesive may be used to adhere thepanel to the substrate.
In general, a bead (or strip) of adhesive must be placedat each intermediate location within the field of the panel(16”-24”o.c.). The approximate size of the bead shouldbe 3/8” diameter (min.) x 2/3 of the panel height. How-ever, due to the design of the molding, the panels areheld away from the substrate by approximately 1/4”.Therefore, the substrate must be shimmed out (usingscrap pieces of panel) in order for the adhesive bead tobond properly with the back of the panel. The adhesive isthen applied to the shim (or panel scrap).
When a moisture barrier is present, a strip of aluminum(approx. 2”-3” wide x 2/3 panel height) must be mechani-cally fastened to the substrate (FIG. O). The adhesive isthen applied to the aluminum.
GENERAL WORK:PROPER ADHESIVE APPLICATION
Excess sealant may be cleaned up (FIG. N) after it ‘skinsover’ (approx. 45 minutes) using a non-marring scraper, aclean rag, and mineral spirits (if necessary).
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES 7
GENERAL WORK:THE PROTECTIVE FILM
When directed to do so (see Work Sequence), theprotective film must be removed from the panel surface. For ease of removal, pull the film back against itself in thesame plane as the panel.
Failure to remove the protective film promptly afterinstallation (or exposure to long periods of sunlight)may cause difficulties in removal and possibly leave anadhesive residue.

When abutting dissimilar material (i.e. glazing, brick, etc.), allowances must be made for expansion/contraction(minimum 1/4”). Bond breaker tape should be applied tothe sheathing prior to the application of the receiver andan approved sealant applied after the panel and alumi-num cover are installed (see Typical Details).

MAINTENANCE:Panels should be incorporated into an overall buildingwashing/maintenance schedule and cleaned in accor-dance with AAMA 610.1, Voluntary Guide Specificationfor Cleaning and Maintenance of Painted AluminumExtrusions and Curtain Wall Panels. In general, panelsmay be cleaned using warm water and a mild detergrent(if necessary). For more aggressive materials, a gentlebrushing/scrubbing action may be required. Abrasivedetergents and/or harsh solvents should not be used.
MAINTENANCE OF THEPANEL FINISH
REPAIR/TOUCH UP:Any minor scratches or dings which may occur duringinstallation can be repaired using touch-up paint availablefrom the manufacturer. Repainting of large areas with thetouch-up paint is not recommended. Finish characteris-tics of the repainted surface may vary from the prepaintedaluminum.

Call (800) 446-8828 or visit www.citadelap.com INSTALLATION GUIDELINES 9
STEP 1: ATTACHING THE BOTTOMHORIZONTAL & THE LEFT VERTICAL MOLDINGS
Since the installation is progressive, the panel is encap-sulated on all four sides by the one piece moldings. Therefore, the first step in the work sequence is creatingan ‘L’ shaped pocket into which the panel will be placed.
In order to move the installation up, and then across theelevation, the first two moldings to be attached are thebottom horizontal and the left vertical (FIG. 1).
Miter or notch the moldings as needed and then fastenthem to the substrate. Keep in mind that verticals ‘passthrough’ horizontals except at head and sill locations.
The required molding length will vary dependent uponcondition and grid layout.
WORK SEQUENCE:REVEAL SYSTEM (RV)
These guidelines are set forth to show the intent and general sequence of installation. The procedure for eachindividual application and condition may vary. For special conditions or for those not discussed (parapet, dissimilar material, etc.), refer to the General Work Guidelines, Typical Details or contact the manufacturer.
- Nailable Substrate- Non-Nailable Substrate (fastened directly to studs)- Substrate (either type) with Moisture Barrier (special instructions apply)
Possible Substrates:
- Panel Fastening (non-mechanical): Panels are attached to the substrate using construction adhesive and are held in place by the perimeter molding.- Molding Fastening: Every 12” along length of molding
- Metal Framing: #S-1000 (1”) or #S-1580 (1-5/8”)- Wood Framing & Sheathing: #S-1001 (1-5/8”)

STEP 4: INSERTING THE PANEL INTO THEMOLDING CHANNELS
Insert the panel into the moldings (a non-marring scrapermay assist in guiding the panel into the channel). If thecorrect amount of sealant is applied, it should squeeze(FIG. 4) from the molding in a continual bead around thepanel perimeter. The excess will be removed in a laterstep.
STEP 2: PREPARING THE PANEL & APPLYINGTHE SEALANT
Begin by cutting the panel to the proper dimension withallowance made for expansion/contraction. Peel theprotective film away from all four edges of the panel. Donot remove it completely.
Place a large, continuous bead of approved sealant intoboth the bottom horizontal and left vertical moldings(FIG. 2). If the moldings extend past the first panellength/width, apply only enough sealant for one panel.
Failure to adequately seal ALL panel edges will causethe installation to fail and will VOID THE WARRANTY.
NOTE:
STEP 3: APPLYING THE PANEL ADHESIVE
Begin by fastening the appropriate shims (panel scraps)to the substrate at the intermediate locations (shimmingreduces the gap between panel and the substrate createdby the molding offset). Then, place a large bead (or stripif using double-sided tape) of panel adhesive onto eachshim (FIG. 3).
The adhesive bead should not be allowed to set upbefore the panel is applied.

STEP 7: CLEANING UP THE EXCESS SEALANTAND REMOVING THE PROTECTIVE FILM
Once the fastening is complete, the excess sealant canbe cleaned from the panel surface using a non-marringscraper, clean rag, and mineral spirits (if necessary).
The scraper should be held at a low angle (FIG. 7) andrun along the perimeter of the panel using the molding asa guide.
Once completed, remove the protective film by pulling itback against itself along the panel.
STEP 6: ATTACHING THE RIGHTVERTICAL MOLDING
After preparing (cutting, applying sealant), the rightvertical should be fastened to the substrate (FIG. 6).
The final molding in the sequence (the right vertical)should never extend past the top horizontal (FIG. 6).Doing so will create a ‘U’ shaped channel and preventthe next panel in the vertical sequence from beinginstalled properly.
NOTE:
STEP 5: ATTACHING THE TOPHORIZONTAL MOLDING
Since verticals typically dominate, the top horizontalmolding should be notched/mitered to ‘dive into’ the leftvertical molding. Likewise the other end of the moldingshould be notched/mitered after being cut to length toreceive the right vertical molding to be attached next.
After the molding has been prepared, apply the properamount of sealant into the channel (only the side facingthe panel) and place it over the edge (FIG. 5). As in theprevious step, sealant squeeze out should occur.
Fasten the top molding to the substrate.

STEP 8: MOVING UP AND ACROSSTHE ELEVATION
Once the first panel is installed, repeat the work se-quence and move vertically in the grid. Upon completionof the first column, move again to the bottom of theelevation and begin at the next column.
Each individual application may vary depending uponlayout. However, moving vertically across the elevationrequires the least amount of setup and may prove themost efficient use of scaffolding and/or power lifts.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES 3
CALCULATING MATERIAL USAGE:After identifying/determining the grid, begin to verify thatthe correct amount of material has been ordered for yourspecific application. Since material takeoffs and resultingquantities are based upon the grid layout, installing thematerial in another pattern may result in shortages.
ALIGNING & MARKING THE GRID:Using the grid pattern derived, establish a base point inthe lowermost left corner of the elevation (typically).Using a chalk line, level, and a plumb bob, mark thecomplete grid (FIG. B) on the substrate. Doing so willallow for any necessary adjustment to be made prior toinstallation.
All surfaces of the substrate should be free from anyobstructions and/or projections which might interfere withpanel application. Note areas where shims may berequired to bring the panel system into a plumb, level, and consistent plane.
DETERMINING THE GRID:Before beginning the installation procedure, it is importantto plan the overall layout of the installation. Architecturaldrawings should be consulted to determine the correctgrid, where applicable.

As a barrier system, Envelope 2000® RR is an exteriorcladding system designed to keep water away from thestructural wall system. Therefore, it is imperative that thefollowing guidelines be followed accurately to ensure theintegrity of the system against moisture intrusion.
GENERAL WORK:PROPER SEALANT APPLICATION
Failure to adequately seal ALL panel edges, splices, cutouts, etc., will cause the installation to fail and willVOID THE WARRANTY.
NOTE:
GENERAL WORK:THE PROTECTIVE FILM
When directed to do so (see Work Sequence), theprotective film must be removed from the panel surface. For ease of removal, pull the film back against itself in thesame plane as the panel.
Failure to remove the protective film promptly afterinstallation (or exposure to long periods of sunlight)may cause difficulties in removal and possibly leave anadhesive residue.
NOTE:
FIGURE F.

CLOSED CELL BACKERROD SET BACK 1/2 THEWIDTH OF THE JOINT
APPROVEDSEALANT
In general, each panel will be mechanically fastened onat least two sides (using either the RR-104 End RunAngle or the RR-121 Male Angle) with the remainder ofthe sides ‘floating’ in an extrusion mounted to the back ofthe adjoining panel (RR-122 Female Angle). This ‘inter-connection’ (FIG. E) of the panels allows for movementwithin the wall system to allow for expansion/contraction.
SELECTING THE RIGHT SEALANT:In order for the proper bond to be created between thesealant and the system components, be sure to use onlythe sealant recommended by the manufacturer (i.e.Tremco® Spectrem® 2, Dow Corning™ 795, or GESilpruf™). The use of other sealants may requireadditional steps (such as priming of materials) or causethe installation to fail due to poor weatherability, stainingand/or lack of adequate bonding.
SEALANT APPLICATION:In general, sealant should be liberally applied whereverwater may be able to infiltrate the system (e.g. joints, dissimilar material abutments, etc.). All panel jointsshould have a closed cell backer rod placed into the joint(set back approximately 1/2 the width of the joint) beforesealant application (FIG. F).
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES 5
FIGURE E.
The position of the panel within the elevation will deter-mine the number of mechanically fastened sides and thenumber of ‘floating’ sides.
Being a progressive system, the lead side(s) are usuallyslid over the previous panel and ‘float’, while the trailingside(s) are then mechanically fastened to the substrate.
Also on the back of the formed panel, the returned edgesare reinforced with a small aluminum angle riveted toeach corner. A stiffener may also be present (dependingupon design requirements and panel size).

MAINTENANCE OF THEPANEL FINISH
MAINTENANCE:Panels should be incorporated into an overall buildingwashing/maintenance schedule and cleaned in accor-dance with AAMA 610.1, Voluntary Guide Specificationfor Cleaning and Maintenance of Painted AluminumExtrusions and Curtain Wall Panels.
In general, panels may be cleaned using warm water anda mild detergrent (if necessary). For more aggressivematerials, a gentle brushing/scrubbing action may berequired. Abrasive detergents and/or harsh solventsshould not be used.

STEP 1: INSTALLING THE FIRST PANELIN THE SEQUENCE
Since the system is progressive, installation generallystarts in the lowermost corner of the elevation.
Once the appropriate sill flashing has been installed, setspacer blocks (1/2” joint typical) on the flashing to use asa guideline for setting the first panel.
Peel the protective film back from the returned edges andaway from the panel face 3”-4”. Next, place the panelonto the spacer blocks, making sure to align the panellevel and plumb. Fasten the perimeter extrusions to thesubstrate using #10 TEK screws located 16” o.c. (max).
All four perimeter extrusions will be fastened to thesubstrate (FIG. 1). However, the extrusions used tobegin/end the run will be different from those adjoiningother panels.
WORK SEQUENCE:ROUT & RETURN SYSTEM (RR)
These guidelines are set forth to show the intent and general sequence of installation. The procedure for eachindividual application and condition may vary. For special conditions or for those not discussed (parapet, dissimilar material, etc.), refer to the General Work Guidelines, Typical Details or contact the manufacturer.

STEP 4: CLEANING UP THE EXCESS SEALANTAND REMOVING THE PROTECTIVE FILM
Any excess sealant that remains after tooling the jointmay be removed using a, clean rag (FIG. 4), and mineralspirits (if necessary).
STEP 2: INSTALLING ABUTTING PANELS
In order to create the proper joint for sealant application, adjoining panels must first be installed (FIG. 2). Begin bysliding the female perimeter molding (from the secondpanel) over the male mounting extrusion (from the firstpanel) using a spacer block to create the proper joint.
The female extrusions (usually at the lower and left edgeof the panel) are not mechanically fastened, but ratherare held in place by (and ‘float’ in) the male extrusionfrom the previously installed panel(s).
The top and right male extrusions are then fastened tothe substrate, encapsulating the panel. Continue bottomto top, then left to right until all panels are in place.
Once completed, remove the protective film completelyby pulling it back against itself along the panel.
Failure to adequately seal ALL panel edges will causethe installation to fail and will VOID THE WARRANTY.
NOTE:
STEP 3: APPLYING THE FOAM BACKER RODAND SEALANT TO THE JOINT
After all of the necessary panels within the elevation areattached to the substrate, the closed cell foam backer rodshould be placed within each joint. Set the foam backfrom the panel face at least half the width of the joint.
Next, liberally apply sealant to the joint, making surethe coverage is continuous along the panel perimeter(FIG. 3). Tool the sealant into the joint.

Failure to properly protect material from moistureintrusion may cause damage to the panel surfaceand/or core. Such damage is NOT covered under thestandard warranty.
NOTE:
If the material has become damp or wet during transpor-tation, the surface should be wiped dry before stacking toprevent any type of corrosion. Once the stacking iscompleted (or if the original packaging is still intact), theunits must be covered with a waterproof covering.
All units must be kept in a dry, well-ventilated area awayfrom exposure to the elements and/or any other installa-tions which may cause damage to the product.
DETERMINING THE GRID:Before beginning the installation procedure, it is importantto plan the overall layout of the installation. Architecturaldrawings should be consulted to determine the correctgrid, where applicable.

USES & APPLICATIONS:Envelope 2000® is intended for use as a non-structuralwall panel. It may also be used in other applicationswhere the slope does not exceed 25° (FIG. C) pastvertical.
Also, the system must be kept a minimum of 12” awayfrom the finished landscaping grade. Other environmen-tal and application limitations may apply. Refer to theProduct Warranty.
Envelope 2000® RS is a fabricated system that shouldarrive at the jobsite with all of the extrusions necessaryfor installation (some will be pre-mounted to the formedpanels and others will be applied in-the-field).
An identification system of some type should also bepresent to locate the position of a particular panel withinthe elevation. Therefore, as an installer, it is importantthat you become familiar with the different types ofmounting extrusions as well as how they will be usedduring installation (FIG. D).
GENERAL WORK:EXTRUSION POSITIONING
Should any formed panels have improperly mountedand/or missing extrusions, notify the fabricatorimmediately.

This ‘inter-connection’ of the panels allows for movementwithin the wall system to allow for expansion/contraction.The position of the panel within the elevation will deter-mine the number of mechanically fastened sides and thenumber of ‘floating’ sides.
Along with the aluminum extrusions, small sections ofopen cell foam should be placed at each weep holelocation (at the bottom edge of the formed ‘pan’) to serveas an insect screen.
In general, each panel will be mechanically fastened tothe substrate on at least two sides, using 6” sections ofthe 8214 extrusion attached to the 8216 extrusion on theback of the panel (FIG. E), with the remainder of thesides ‘floating’ in an extrusion mounted to the substrate(8212 extrusion).
A unique feature of the Envelope 2000® RS system is thepresence of accent (or baffle) strips within each joint.Using the accent strips allows the panel joint to range

As a rainscreen principle system, Envelope 2000® RS isan exterior cladding system designed to allow incidentalwater to enter the system and exit through weep holes. The RS System will always be applied over a moisture/airinfiltration barrier (i.e. Tyvek®). However, whenever thesystem abutts a dissimilar material, you must allow for asealant joint. Therefore, it is imperative that the followingguidelines be followed accurately to ensure the integrityof the system against moisture intrusion.
GENERAL WORK:PROPER SEALANT APPLICATION
FIGURE F.
CLOSED CELL BACKERROD SET BACK 1/2 THEWIDTH OF THE JOINT

SELECTING THE RIGHT SEALANT:In order for the proper bond to be created between thesealant and dissimilar materials, be sure to use only thesealant recommended by the manufacturer (i.e. Tremco®
Spectrem® 2, Dow Corning™ 795, or GE Silpruf™). Theuse of other sealants may require additional steps (suchas priming of materials) or cause the installation to faildue to poor weatherability, staining and/or lack ofadequate bonding.
SEALANT APPLICATION:In general, sealant should be liberally applied whereverthe system abutts dissimilar material. All such jointsshould have a closed cell backer rod placed into the joint(set back approximately 1/2 the width of the joint) beforesealant application (FIG. F).

Failure to remove the protective film promptly afterinstallation (or exposure to long periods of sunlight)may cause difficulties in removal and possibly leave anadhesive residue.
NOTE:
MAINTENANCE OF THEPANEL FINISH
REPAIR/TOUCH UP:Any minor scratches or dings which may occur duringinstallation can be repaired using touch-up paint availablefrom the fabricator. Repainting of large areas with thetouch-up paint is not recommended. Finish characteris-tics of the repainted surface may vary from the prepaintedaluminum.
6 INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
When cutting the strip(s) to size, approximately 1” shouldbe added to the desired joint size to obtain the correctstrip width. For example, a 1/2” joint would require theaccent strips to be cut to a 1-1/2” width. The protectivefilm should always be completely removed beforeinstalling the accent strip.
GENERAL WORK:THE PROTECTIVE FILM
When directed to do so (see Work Sequence), theprotective film must be removed from the panel surface. For ease of removal, pull the film back against itself in thesame plane as the panel.

STEP 1: ATTACHING THE STARTER EXTRUSIONSTO THE SUBSTRATE
Since the system is progressive, installation generallystarts in the lowermost corner of the elevation.
Once the appropriate flashing has been installed, setspacer blocks (1/2” joint typical) on the flashing to use asa guideline for setting the first panel.
Begin by peeling the protective film back from thereturned edges of the panel. Then, attach the starterextrusion (8212) along the bottom & left side to thesubstrate, shimming where required (FIG. 1).
WORK SEQUENCE:RAINSCREEN SYSTEM (RS)
These guidelines are set forth to show the intent and general sequence of installation. The procedure for eachindividual application and condition may vary. For special conditions or for those not discussed (parapet, dissimilar material, etc.), refer to the General Work Guidelines, Typical Details or contact the manufacturer.

STEP 4: INSTALLING THE ABUTTING PANELS
Begin by placing spacer blocks (equal to the joint width)along the panel edge to create the proper spacing. Thenprepare the panel for installation (repeating STEP 2) byattaching the hanger clips to the back of the panel.
Slide the next panel in the sequence over the edge of theaccent strip and fasten the opposite side of the panel tothe substrate (FIG. 4).
Then completely remove the protective film from theinstalled panel(s).
Complete the installation by moving vertically in the grid.Upon completion of the first column, move again to thebottom of the elevation and begin at the next column.
STEP 2: INSTALLING THE FIRST PANEL
Begin by fastening several 6” lengths of the hangerextrusion (8214), located every 16” o.c., onto the top andright sides of the panel. The ‘clips’ should be slid ontothe perimeter extrusion (8216) located on the back of thepanel and then fastened using a minimum of two (2), #12TEK screws (see General Work).
Next, slide the edges of the panel onto the starterextrusions (previously attached in STEP 1). Place thelower end in first, then slide the panel to the left to fullyengage the extrusions.
Fasten the ‘hanger clips’ on the opposite sides (top andright) to the substrate (FIG. 2).
Completely remove the protective film.
STEP 3: PLACING THE ACCENT STRIPS
At each joint, an accent strip (small section of panel) is tobe placed (FIG. 3) before mounting the next panel in thesequence. Verticals should pass through horizontals.
The accent strips are slid into the slot on the perimeterextrusion (8216). The strips are not fastened, butpermitted to ‘float’ within the extrusion.
Remove the protective film completely from the accentstrip before placing them.
